The Walt Grace Experiment

Hey everybody,

With the advent of Born and Raised coming up, I thought something like this might be a good idea. I frequently listen to new songs, and wish they were slightly different in some way. Since we only have the first :30 or so of Walt Grace, I feel like this is the perfect scenario for people to take a shot at rewriting the song without our ears being tainted yet by hearing the full version.

So, the challenge for anyone interested is to create a film, Soundcloud, or any medium that would deliver audio. You would play what we already know of Walt Grace, but pen the rest of the song. I'm sure this can still go on after the album release, but the experiment is focused on NOT yet hearing the whole song and seeing where your mind takes you.

This is a similar idea to the contest going on, but I think its an opportunity to see how out there or spot on you can get. Maybe this thread will crash and burn, or it might turn into something really nice. Hopefully the latter!...

Hi Guys,

I've been lurking around this forum for a while and thought you guys would be a good group to ask the following:

I own a prototype of the OMJM (# 3 of 4), this means it was the 3rd ever OMJM built. It was from these prototypes that John Mayer and Martin approved the production run of these guitars. It was built by the
Martin Research and Development team and was probably given more care
than your average OMJM. From what I understand (I think I saw a picture on this forum) John Mayer has #1, the Martin factory has one, and two (mine and another) are floating around elsewhere. It is also possible that John Mayer has two of these and that mine is the only other prototype floating around. I've been looking for the 4th prototype online, but can't seem to find it.

I've started contemplating selling the guitar to fund a dreadnought - my question
is what do you think fair value is on a guitar like this? It's a cool piece of Martin and JM...
