Word to the Wise:

Email him AND call if you win. I sent the email but for some reason he didn't get it (it didn't bounce back to me so I don't know why) and he gave away my tickets. I didn't get the message 'til late Friday and BMG was closed by then, but I guess I should've called and left a voicemail.

So my Dad called Pablo and talked to him, and we filled out the affidavit.
He said it was fine for me to not disclose my SSN, and we scanned it and sent it to him.
Hopefully he will email me back saying that he sent the tickets!

I hope they're good seats.
But who cares.. they were free? haha.
Thank you everyone for your advice!
I will update you if/when i get the tickets!

No problem, don't worry about the SSN in the affidavit, just fill in the rest and send in.

If you feel more comfortable leaving me a business address, place of work, to send the tickets to that is fine as well, just as long as you know were they are being sent to.

GO FOR IT! You won, didn't you?? I thought you didn't enter any contest, but since you actually did, I would definitely comply and give them what they need! It's a free concert for heavens sakes! Don't you want to go?? I don't see anything unusual about them asking for that information! Do it!

Did you enter the contest? If you clicked on the "I want to go!" link on the ilike music page on facebook it automatically entered you in the contest. I do think it's legit. However, I wouldn't feel comfortable giving out my SSN # (I don't have one because I'm Canadian, but if I did I would be anxious, too) but that's because I'm a spaz. I wouldn't worry about the name, address and phone # part, that info is pretty harmless. I would probably ask if there...

whay kissyfitt says concerns me because if pablo contacted her too, what is to say that he didn't contact 50 other people trying to scam them as well?
i REALLY DESPERATLEY want these tickets, but I definatley do not want to be scammed into giving too much information to a stranger.
am i being overly suspicious and cautious here!?

well if you read this page http://columbiarecords.com/artist/johnmayer/magicticket/rules.html , it does mention that those selected will have to fill out an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release.

Keep in mind that a lot of times, these folks that seek winners are interns, not full-time employees and so that may be why he wasn't in the system. If you called that number and he answered, it's legitimate. It's definitely a Columbia Records number.

What Cait said about the social security # thing makes sense. I would just ask for more information about it if you feel uncomfortable, but if they sent you information proving it's real, then I would think it was.
