thanks guys, i'll have to scope out the versions you've mentioned.
i've always loved wheel - for a many personal reasons but when a favorite song gets turned into a 12 minute (at the bflo show) masterpiece it makes it almost personal.

i love how he's taken older stuff and put new spins on even the littlest note...at first i didn't like it as much cause i wasn't able to sing along like i used to! but it's all grown on me.

Wheel has always been one of my LEAST favorite JM songs until now....the way he's playing it on this tour has definitely given me a new appreciation for it! I can't pick a fav version at the moment, but I also love Bob's sax playing in this song.

chula vista had the crazy musical aspects, but houston had the really personal feeling to it (with the banter in the middle about buying his first guitar). i can't really think of a time i've heard wheel that it wasn't outstanding, come to think of it. they all have a different vibe to them but they're all amazing. maybe they're amazing to me because the song really resonates for me...who knows.

Timmy has all of Wheel from Toronto in that thread and I have it in two parts on YouTube. I haven't decided which I like better...maybe leaning towards this one. I still think my all time favourite live version is from the 2nd show on the Mayercraft. If you haven't heard that one, it's worth digging through the download thread to find! There are some videos on YouTube as well but all of them are in parts because it was 16 minutes long.

timmy, you're absolutely correct on all the Darien Lake shows. He also played Rochester several years ago, when Teitur opened for him. That was a wonderful show. I wish he'd play Rochester again.

i believe he has played darien lake 4-5 times (with counting crows (8/12/03), with maroon 5 (8/10/04), with Sheryl crow (9/1/06), with one republic (08/22/08), and at hsbc arena in buffalo on (4/21/07) this last show and the show with sheryl crow were two great nights at darien lake. i remember after that show he wrote a blurb on his site that said something to the effect of "now that felt right. what a great night" the shows at darien lake are usually great. small crowds but...

We warned him at the meet and greet...she was holding it up and he was reading it! I was laughing the whole time! I'm surprised it isn't shaking more! I try and tape the whole show actually but I ran out of memory so this was actually on Kelsey's camera. I'll get everything else up tomorrow. I do have all of Taking on Water. Mercy was wicked but for some reason the video is all blurry...the sound is good though!

I searched and cannot find a thread for this show.

Who's going? Anyone taping? Anyone know of any decent restaurants in the area?

I've never seen a concert there before so I have no clue how bad or bearable the traffic situation is going to be. I bought a VIP parking pass just to be on the safe side if it's anything like getting out after a show at Blossom in Ohio.

Can't wait for the encore choices to be posted. (come on, Not Myself!)
