Maybe the words "Home Life" mean something to him?! Maybe the song Homelife means something to him? John Mayer might be his inspiration. Don't jump on someones case, if you don't know their reasoning or logic. He's going to get whatever tattoo he wants regardless of whether or not it's personal or meaningful. Just sayin'...

Tattoos are supposed to be personal and have some sort of meaning. You are just stealing his idea....not very creative. You said "seriously considering" It's a stupid thing to do I think. Inspiration would mean you put two words that mean something to you....

Firstly, it was more of an idea - I'm NOT actually going to do it. Secondly, its not stealing, its more like inspiration (and technically its just lyrics from a song and plenty of people have those). And thirdly, get over yourself - there's absolutely no need to react like that, and its NOT (i see you found caps lock) going to win you friends.

Think I'm probably that guy... Have recently been seriously considering getting Home Life tattoo's. Two things put me off: the pain (a very real concern) and the fact that if I ever met JM, he would think I defined obsessed fan! They would look awesome though..

This is probably one of my favorite threads on the board. Reading back through the first 20 pages is very surreal for me; seeing how "obsessed" I was with Mayer and everything about him. I was the guy I can't stand now-a-days but want to help see things clearer, at the same time. It all seems like a lot longer ago than 8-9-10 years.

In an interview on the red carpet for the Cosmopolitan awards earlier this year, towards the end he started talking about standup and how he likes to go on stage and pretend to know what he's doing.
He says something along the lines of..."It doesn't hurt anybody, I'm up there and it lasts 6 minutes.....kinda like my sex life!"
I don't think the woman interviewing him really caught what he said. But I sure as hell laughed.
