I'm happy the entire comedy set hasn't come out. It really was one of those things that should stay between the people who were there (IMO). The fact that my mom called me and said "I saw video of him talking about perez!" creeps me out to no end.

And by any chance did anybody get the whole OAR/Guster jam?? 'cause that really was the musical highlight of the entire cruise.

Obviously, you're not the only one at the shows and other things audiotaping. When I mentioned audiotapers, I didn't mean specifically you. I just want you to know that.

I also didn't know that John saw your microphone. When he commented on it, did you ask him if it was okay to go ahead and tape? Maybe he was TRYING to ask you in a gracious non-grumpy-old-man way. Kind of like when I was a kid and my dad would say, "You're wearing your new sandals out...

Why are detachable lense cameras not allowed? That would def decrease a lot of the flash issues. As those cameras can capture enough light without it. And one way to eliminate videotaping is to offer videos for sale. But yeah audiotapes are good enough for me. It would be awesome if they sold copies of the audio that Chad records from the booth.

My point was that soundchecks have always been off-limit... and people have broken the rules and audiotaped them. I'm sure a few people were audiotaping the Q and A sessions even though they knew it was against John's wishes. So, the videotapers shouldn't be getting ALL the grief.

I don't audio or videotape at any JM concert (I do take lots of pictures). I like to enjoy the music and dance with my friends. I don't sing along loudly off-key, but if anyone...

Don't want to get too much into this... but it does matter if it was audio or video. I think the point Debbie was making was that audio has always been okay, Mayer has had the same taping policy for a long time - but video isn't allowed. Hasn't been for several tours at least, and apparently not on...

I really can't believe that people are upset about the rules being broken concerning taping. Lots of people are guilty of taping when they weren't supposed to be. It doesn't matter if it's video or audio, the rules have been broken. The gossip sites can find those video and audio recordings as easy as we can. It's not hard. And even if we know that the video/audio has been taped illegally, most of us still watch/listen to the recording.
