Anyway, just wanted to give you guys props for this awesome thread. Keep up the posts!Us Moms for Mayer are busy peeps and don't post often, but thanks for reading. I like to think that we are one of the nicer corners of MSM, but that is def debatable

Hi MFM. I'm fairly new to this site and glad I found this thread. I'm probably one of the "older" moms that love Mayer. Went to the Red Rocks
concert a few weeks ago and took both my boys. One came with me on Friday night and one came on Saturday night. Favorite moment was during "Stop This
Train" I got a little teary and my son put his arm around me and just listened with me. It was a very special moment I'll not soon forget.
BTW I liked the comments about the "underwear." Makes me remember those days of Ghostbuster and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle underwear. LOL |

My friends all think I should market it! My husband even scored me an autograph (on a Buddy Guy's menu) for a menu wall I have for "significant places" and things for our marriage!
What a guy! You guys all rock --I hope I can meet all of you someday--I hope to send you all a pair of Mayer Underoos!

Sara--I am totally loving this. Kids say these funny things and they aren't even trying to be funny, which makes it sweet, too 
But of course, John once mentioned the importance of not forgetting the "ladies" when it comes to "merch." I can see it now--a line of black or blue thongs with "JM" inscribed in the appropriate place(s). On second thought--some of us don't find thongs to be "comfortable" so there better be some hi-cut briefs and bikinis, too. I've never bought any merch other than the recordings and some sheet music, but I think I could handle me some JM lingerie 
And I LOVE this thread. Lots of moms for Mayer at the Indy show last weekend--two others from my office and many others there on a girls' night or "date night" with someone. Our daughter didn't want to go--she's 12 and into this "my mom will act silly at the concert and so will all the other grown women" stage right now. (I'm afraid I proved her right--I partied like it was 1999

missy--wish we would've connected sooner--my best girlfriend and I were at Indy too!
I think the underwear idea is totally hilarious--and you are right, my son was just trying to tell me how cool he thinks JM is! 
Indy rocked, but I have to say, as you can tell, July 4th might go down as my best day EVER!

I'm 44 and have all JMs albums... just lately I have been listening to them constantly and my 6 yr old son is starting to sing along. I have 3 sons.. aged
25, 6 and 5 and for some reason, John's music is really resonating with me now. Why? I have no idea.
I wish he'd come back to Perth (where things are smaller eh John?) and do a string of concerts. I'd definitely find a sitter then (yep my oldest son is more domesticated now and will sit for me).

I totally just realized tonight that I don't know if I've mentioned this, but LD and I moved. I got accepted to college and I've been going a
little crazy for over a month now getting back into "school mode". I'm liking it, but its still a little scary. Worrying about getting through
it etc..., but so far I'm doing alright. Guess I'll see what happens come the end of the month and midterms. So I'm just writing this to let you
all know that if you want/need my new address you all have my email (one or two of them
 ) address so just email me and I'll email you my new info.
Hope everyone is doing well. To keep this JM related......hope he comes to Canada again soon. Well I've really gotta get my butt to bed. I'm only gonna get about 4 hrs sleep now. Have a good night all. |

It's been a few weeks since we saw the Abbey Road special on Sundance. I remember John blogging about going into the studio when he was in England in Fall
2006. So I'd been kind of watching for it. I figured John would probably be the LAST featured artist--but he was on first, so I called for my 12-year-old
daughter to come in and watch it with me. Her first comment? "Mom! Did he grow his hair back already?"
 We enjoyed the special--I totally loved when he finished one song and just
simply said, "cool" right before the commercial break. That just sums it up, doesn't it?
I also posted about this upthread but speaking of moms--I know John's folks had the time of their life at that birthday celebration two weeks ago. I remember Tony Bennett--barely--from when I was a child, before the British invasion of the 60s. To have a whole new generation of people discover him--and to have John Mayer as a booster--is wonderful. What a wonderful thing for John to do not only for his parents, but Tony Bennett, too. Tony is the original class act! |

Wow its been a long time since someone commented in this thread. I figured I would do this before we head out tomorrow and I have no idea when I'll be able
to get access to a pc that has internet.
Things were a little crazy with school, finals, the flu etc...so I wasn't able to get Christmas cards sent out like I wanted, so I'll just say it here: Hope you all have a Happy Holiday (whatever that may be) with your family and friends. Its been another great (although hectic) year. HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To keep this JM related: I hope that if he does do a summer tour that he goes somewhere I'll be able to get to. |

Debbie if you see this, I sent you an email. I know that sometimes it gets sent to your junk folder, so I thought I would post here just in case. To keep this JM related. I'm about to lose all the JM stuff (36GB of JM stuff and 5GB of JM Trio stuff) that I have on my pc and I hope to heck that I can figure out a way to save it, cause it's a lot of stuff and I don't want to have to try and find it all again. Oh yeah, I hope to see a JM concert soon. Ok, that's all I got. |
