TYFTWD 3 - PICS
THE CHAD - Here's the best way to sum Chad up: There was this story in Wired magazine that he brought to my attention a few months back, about the leader of a team that salvaged boats. This man held an unlimited master's license, which qualified him to pilot ships of any size. I would say the same holds true for Chad, except he holds an unlimited master's license in sound engineering, with an emphasis on my music.

The Crossroads jam was cool. I thought he was going to mention something about the tour?

He hyped up that? And didn't tell us half of what he said he would. Lame.
Hopefully he was just having wireless problems for real and didn't post as much as he wanted to as a result. Or he just completely forgot what he promised. Maybe he'll post something from somewhere with a better internet connection today. |

Haha. Wishful thinking.
1) I think we got the tour update. I dunno 'bout y'all, but um, I think those two blues track were our update. 2) I'm not disappointed at all. Like Debbie, I went to dinner, got a bite to eat and went out with some friends. I woke up to the wonderful Crossroads post and those pictures. 3) I hope this really is TYFTW Weekend. I could watch Mayer stuff for hours. Happy Sunday!

Guys, you have to remember that Steve Jordan was on drums for all the tracks on Continuum, and he produced it with John, so just because he's in the studio
with him now doesn't at all mean they are making a JM3 album. Plus, like some others said, I HIGHLY doubt he's done with a new solo album already and
making a JM3 album.....there hasn't been that much time to get everything done! Continuum took 3 years alone, and since John is such a perfectionist and
doesn't want to rush anything, I seriously doubt he's already got it done and working on a completely different album. Just not feasible if you ask
me....
All that said, yes, I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get more yesterday, but hopefully that's because they got into a real groove in the studio and were recording some really cool shit. I'll take that over what he told us he'd give us! Give the man a break....just because we didn't get all he said we would yesterday, it might still be coming. Don't give up just yet...and don't stop your lives in the meantime either....

I don't think anyone has been putting their life on hold, even if one were to be reading In Touch on a Saturday night in front of their computer.
I was just curious since Richard has mentioned previously that he felt
this tour would be different and now the source is announcing the same. I'm really just jerking out in anticipation of the shows should I'll try to
download this summer, but I don't think he's done relaying info from this weekend either. We'll see.
ETA: I would love for Steve Jordan to somehow be on this tour. He pushes John and that can only make for better music.

Update | ||
|
I seriously doubt those two blues songs are any kind of "update" on how this tour is going to be different than any other one. He's played
Hendrix songs countless of times before on tour. He's also played a couple of Clapton songs as well. I'll be disappointed if we don't get any
other information this weekend. Where's the new song "Taking on Water"?

i really think he and steve jordan were just fucking around in the studio...having fun with friends. when your friends are musicians and you've got all the
toys in the room together, are you really just going to sit around and talk politics when you're in the room together? no...you're gonna pick up your
instruments and start having fun. steve was probably just testing out his kit to make sure it wasn't gonna fall over...and remember steve was clapton's
drummer pretty recently. you know JM knows like ever EC song ever released because he's an uber fan.
i recommend less analysis and more enjoyment ryan.

upcoming tour | ||
|
This seems pretty obvious to me....even though it could be wrong...but with everything Mr. Mayer has said in his blogs and the pics he has posted, it seems to
me that Steve Jordan is going to be the drummer on this tour. That, to me, seems pretty different than every other tour. Full band, just with Steve....
Who knows...just thinking out loud. I'm sure I'm looking way
too far into it.
