2. Ryan, you haven't been around long enough to post anything about that first song. 3. Threads like this are my favorite because it's all about newbs who still have that absolute fire inside them for Mayer and just want to talk about how giddy they are to have a place to talk about him finally because their friends just make fun of them for talking about him and his music so much. |

Hmmm, tough choosing, but...
1. Split Screen Sadness 2. Clarity 3. Wheel honorables: Victoria, Comfortable, Gravity, New Deep, Homelife, Back To You EDIT - It's funny, even after playing guitar for 14 years and really enjoying the guitar theatrics live in concert, when it comes to fave songs, I always end up choosing the acoustic/singer/songwriter type of stuff. Maybe it's nostalgia... eh, who knows?

It's funny how these threads pop up every couple of months or so...and it's always Top 3,

1. Split screen sadness (btw i was surprised that was 2 other peoples favorite there are so many parts in that song where i just think... wow... amazing lyrics 2. Tracing just love the concept... no one ever talks about a relationship like that 3. In your atmosphere (where the light is version) i just love it... the end is so powerful "where ever you go, where ever you are, i watch that pretty life play out in pictures from a far)

Run67, your list is pretty much exactly what mine used to be.

A couple of lines that really, really stick with me are "all you need is love is a lie/'cause we had love but we still said goodbye" and "I can't wait to figure out what's wrong with me/so I can say this is the way that I used to be/there's no substitute for time." It's super simple, but maybe just rings really true for me. 2. Tracing Agreed, again. I didn't put that or IYA on my list 'cause I've kind of played them out over the years. Tracing has about a bazillion plays on my iTunes since '04. |
