RIP Leroi. You were so talented and too young to die. I always looked forward to seeing you at DMB concerts at Darien Lake and Toga, it will never be the same

I posted this in Non JMc, but I feel like it deserves to be here too.
The Dave Matthews Band were the first band, the first pieces of music that I identified with when I was 15 years old. I remember hearing Crush for the first time, and then discovering Live at Luther, and soon thereafter purchasing the entire DMB discography. I remember the feeling that poured through my body, listening to the bass lines and the horns, sitting in the back of my friend's suburban while we drove down to the beach at night in high school. Their show at the Meadowlands (6-11-01) was the first concert ticket I ever saved up my money for. The first time I really felt alive. It was then I discovered not only DMB, but music. I was on the subway today, listening to my iPod.. and Bartender live from Folsom came on. The tears streamed down my face all the way to work. My heart feels so heavy... I am so sad. I feel like one of the luckiest people in the world to have been moved by their music, by LeRoi. I am so glad I made out it to SPAC night two this year to see him for the last time, it was the best show of their's I have ever seen. The air felt different without him at Bristow and Rothbury. The music will never be the same, but it will live on forever. Rest in Peace LeRoi. |

One of my "bands to see before I die" is DMB. I'm finally seeing them next Sunday, but it's a little less sweet without LeRoi. It's truly
a shame. I was devastated when I heard this.
