Stupid review. In true diva style??? He comes out pretty much on time in every show I have ever been to.

The show was amazing! Man on the side had some very funny banter along with it, that alone would make a great tape... The love for LeRoi was very cool and
John seemed like he was in a great mood! He stated that he was "in the mood for jamming" and boy was he ever, he played that guitar with more
feeling tonight than I've seen him play live in a long time! GREAT SHOW!

I'm blown away. The show was amazing. I had my "ultimate setlist" lined up internally before I walked in, and I'll be damned if he
didn't play every song on my list. Okay, I could have done without a few of them, but I'm not complaining. I had no one annoying sitting around me,
and I got to gawk at DRH's skinny ass all night, LOL. Wasn't sure how he'd "be"...I figured it could go one way or the other, and it
went beautifully. Very talkative (big fan of banter here), and he was just flawless. I've gotta add this show to my collection, even though I haven't
searched for a new one in *years*.
Okay, I have a child now and can't stay posted, so please refrain from flaming (which would just be lame anyway), but where is Dela? Also, John, Please eat a sandwich. Thanks, Danielle

Hightlights for me were:
John coming out with Paramore was great. I grabbed a seat about 10 rows from the stage and watched their set, a lot of people were enjoying themselves. How about that flip-roll between the guitarrist and bassist?....that was insane! "CIR", probably my favorite song from John's catalog......love the solo in the middle. "Slow Dancing..." Such a good song, and really cool acoustic version with just Robbie and David. The Leroi stuff was really touching, both the into to "BTMB" and the #34 intro. Found out about Leroi's passing Monday night right after John's set......really hit me. DMB was a band that had a huge influence on my love of music. I've seen them all over the US and still have my first ticket stub.......I think it was $9 or so at Toad's Place in New Haven. Although I don't go to a lot of their shows anymore, I've always had a lot of respect for the band and they've written some AMAZING songs (#41, Cry Freedom, Grey St.). I always felt like DMB was a true BAND, every part was integral.....almost like a musical Voltron. Dave might have been the head, but you couldn't have the full force without all 5 guys. Anyways, sad stuff......nice to hear John pay tribute. "I don't Need No Doctor" was very cool, this is a song I haven't heard too much so I really enjoyed the various solos and showcasing. - I thought the venue was pretty nice too, beautiful night to be outside, I actually spent the first hour of the show standing at the top of the lawn just hanging out alone and looking down on the whole crowd, kind of a cool view. ....okay, off to get some sleep, then off to Darien Lake. Over and out. |

Covered In Rain! Is this only the second appearance this tour? Most appropriate at Jones Beach, but I'm glad it at least came out somewhere else!
Is it Sunday yet? |

"Then there are those who listened to "Your Body Is A Wonderland," "Waitin' On The World To Change," or some similar pop-happy
tune about a dozen times on the way to the concert and spent the night wondering when he'd play "Daughters." "
.... people next to me... oh well, still an incredible show. john never ceases to amaze me! |

On a side note. Nicole and I went to the sound booth afterwards because Chad said he would give a setlist to Nicole earlier. However, Chad was no longer there
and the guy told us he left early for New York. He said, "He went to New York because John and him are going to the studio tonight. Sometimes he just gets
the bug and he flys to New York." So maybe we'll get some new music coming our way!! I'm at the airport now on my way back to Chicago. Sweet Home
Chicago!!

Yeah, really, wow, what a great show (not that I've ever seen a bad one). He was definitely in the mood to play last night. It was great to have a few
surprises on the setlist, too.
Paramore was incredible. I was moderately familiar with their music coming into the show, but I came away throroughly impressed. Probably my favorite of Mayer's openers that I've seen. For such young kids, they had such stage presence and energy, and anyone should be able to appreciate the lead singer's vocals. |
