I couldn't decide which one of the following two cakes I liked better, so I've decided to give a JM Stratocaster each to... JILL... who made a cake with a beautiful composition, delicious looking ingredients, and a nostalgic design. This one inspired the most holiday joy in me. DANIELLE... the leg-lamp cake is clever, witty, well done, and gave a great laugh. This one was the talk of the town at the Mayer house. Enjoy the guitars!!! And to everyone who submitted a cake, both into an oven and to my blog, THANK YOU. I was blown away at the time you took to make such brilliant looking creations. Because of you I had the best holiday season since I was a little boy. I hope you all felt a little merrier for it, too. Wishing you a happy, healthy and successful 2009... With Love, John

I really think it was cool he picked cakes that looked like the average Joe could have done them, because as much as I loved the ones that were really well done, it would have sent a message that said, no one had a chance at this than people who were really good bakers. Good choice, and awesome two people got to win...congrats debbie it turns out he has a "roving penis " which prompted her to eject him from the magical land of constantly erect nipples...french publication

I didn't even realize it was a contest...and can you imagine winning a JM strat? How very cool of John. It was so fun checking out the creativity of JM fans and a great way to get me in the holiday mood!

He is a design freak, right, so I can see how the Santa appealed to him. It's very modern and hip, yet traditional! And that lamp cake is brilliant! I enjoyed this thread, and participating in the interfaith baking, with my truly interfaith cake! Thanks for all your nice comments! I hope you all have a very happy new year! And, BTW, John Rules...two strats, that's pretty sweet!

I still think that Santa cake has a striking resemblance to my puppy! I read some comments over on TryJM and someone named Andrea posted a link to my cake. Apparently, she likes my cake and the Mr. Hanky (is that right?) in the borat suit better than the ones JM selected. Ha! Ha!! Anyway, people reading the comments assumed that those two cakes were hers, so I posted a comment (although it hasn't shown up yet) to clarify and lay claim to my very time-consuming creation! But I am sure if he put it on the blog, he would have gotten a lot less entries, I mean who could compete with that. Here is the extent of my Holiday baking...Note opened plastic cookie box....Our Market sells naked sugar cookies for just this purpose. Note also the delicate layering of sprinkles. The child has inherited my sensibilities if some is good then more is much much better. cookie making at it's finest in the Ocoboc household. Ha Ha...Debbie, your granddaughter is beautiful, great pics...I miss having a little one around. The extent of my Chrsitmas cookies came from a plastic tub, I did have to bake them though and fish through the M&M bag for the red and green ones. How frustrating! What makes me upset the most is that they are associating a feeling of negativity and ill-will with my cake, and my main reward for making cakes is to bring joy to other people. Please know that I do not share the sentiments being expressed over there! Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	hahahaha Debbie, I know that cookie decorating technique, my daughter Bella has perfected it:) We were going to make a cake, but my mother in law gave us a chocolate fountain. We all dipped our cakes, cake parts and cookies into it and nothing got decorated in anything but melted chocolate. Bella has your grandaughters sense of rationing and eventaully threw up;) Congratulations to the winners- Those cakes were nostalgia and sweetness rolled into one!
