Yesterday was perfect for a bike ride. My bf and I rode our bikes over to the beach and then went on a super long walk. Too bad we followed it up by eating a
pile of homemade chicken nachos while watching the SuperBowl.
Back on track today, though! Kim |

ok so Jillian's new workout DVDs came out yesterday and they're also on On Demand on Comcast (and i'm sure whatever other cable providers you all
have been doing the shred on). I didn't actually do it last night because I didn't think it'd be on there so soon since the DVDs came out
yesterday, but I watched both. Holy Exercise butt kicking, batman. Each workout is over 50 mins and they're both like the Best of Jillian if you will. She
takes moves from her first DVDs, the Biggest Loser workouts, her books, the Shred, and then some and combines them into 2 new DVDs. The one is the Metabolism
Blast and that's more cardio and without weights. The other is Banish Trouble Spots and that one does use weights. Basically, you have your 5 minute warm
up and then she has you do 5 circuits on each workout and 2 sets of each circuit and then the cool down.
For the weights one, she only suggests you using really light weights, she even said she was only using 3lb weights because you're basically targeting each section for like 5 minutes each. I think I might have to try out the new workouts after I move when I actually have room to move around in the new apartment. |

i'm down exactly 7lbs now...only 3 more lbs to go! i'm also leaving for taos today...i know i probably won't be able to stick to my diet
completely, but i now have the knowledge to make healthy decisions about what i eat. plus, my estimated date of arrival for turbo jam just happens to be the
day i get back :-)

yay shanna!!!!
Ok so i did Jillian's no more trouble zones workout last night and my legs KILL today (i also wore real high heels yesterday so i'm sure that didn't help the cause). I almost think I could have done the workout w/ the 5lb weights, but i'm not positive. It was a damn good workout. |

What are the targeted areas for that DVD Riss? My trouble spots are my hips and thighs...it's awful.

it's pretty much a full body work out, really. she really targets shoulders, triceps, and biceps for upper body and then glutes, hamstrings, quads and abs
for middle/lower body.
i didn't get to go to the gym to lift like i normally do on wednesdays, so i did this instead and she hit every body part i lift for with the Abs Diet. |

Hmmm, i've been doing P90X and its been good I mean, i don't really know, i feel better, I've been too scared to weigh myself...and I lost my
measuring tape. By I was able to see a big different in my arms and abs (i usually lose fat in those two places first) and last my butt and thighs. I've
been monitoring my heart rate and caloric loss with the monitor. With just working out I burn around 500-850 calories a day. And i hate like a man. We'll
see...maybe i'll post pictures of the changes.

Holy crap. I just finished Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones. After Shredding for weeks, I was up for a little change. Maybe it was the length of the
workout (twice as long as the Shred) or all of the variety, either way, I'm already feeling it.
Not sure who got me going on this at-home workout routine, but thank you a million times over. Kim |

yeah, both those workouts kick my ass. actually the one with the weights isn't as bad as the one without the weights, but i never was a big fan of plyo
exercises.

I would like to dedicate this Valentine's Day to Chalene Johnson. I just took my pictures for week 2 of Chalean Extreme and I am astounded. I mean, I knew
I was a little flab-ulous before, but holy shit. What a difference. And I would totally post them if the befores didn't make me want to throw up. And
I'm by no means ripped at week 2, but there is a very noticeable change. I was a little discouraged this week because I haven't really noticed a
difference on the scale, even though I can tell I'm losing inches in my measurements and my clothes are fitting better. Just something about that stupid
number on the scale that pisses me off. Anyway, she says in the manual that some people (women especially) tend to either stay level (what I've been doing)
or even gain a few in the first week or two of a strength training program and not to get discouraged because even though it doesn't seem like it,
you're still changing the shape of your body. Thank god I took the pictures, because now I can SEE what she's saying. The muscle is burning away the
flab, no matter what that stupid scale says. I <3 CHALENE!

which do we like better- brown rice or whole wheat pasta? i'm trying out some recipes that call for the pasta but i think i could substitute the rice. i
mean they use both in this book so i dont see how it could hurt?
eta: never mind. i'll just use the rice since i am buying some for another recipe. |

i think are about the same nutrition wise if its whole wheat pasta that's NOT made with refined flour?
there's also brown rice pasta! edited to add the NOT. when flour is refined, all the goodies are taken out. oops.
