i don't think ticket sales have been very good for this outside of people already booked on Mayer's Eve, monica. i could still pull up some pretty
decent tickets as of yesterday when i tried out of curiosity.

That second 800 buck show cracks me up. Let me go drop $800 on a slab o' steak and some potatoes. At least with the first one you get to kick it with
some quality musicians for a minute. (although you still get the money seats and a nice gift bag)
No offense to anyone who spent that money on the second VIP show, but I would hope that one would sell out last. That's like 2.5 xbox's or a sweet plane ticket or 800 junior bacon cheeseburgers. Just my two cents on that one. I know, it's charity... I went back and tried to pull a better $250 seat/$50 seat and I got one two places down from mine, haha. Ah well. I'm in there. -drew.

drew, my guess is those seats will sell to the people who aren't going on the boat at all and are just looking for a nice "charitable" evening
out. some people go to these charity events to a) donate (usually for a tax write off) or b) be seen at the event, so the idea of getting a steak dinner in
addition to the pat on the back for being a good person would be very appealing to them. if i had the cash, i might do that option. M&G's really are
anti-climactic and if you're not a super fan (or even if you are), they're not all that exciting. hi what's your name? thanks for coming, *insert
name* smile for the camera. move down the line. it's not like you get to have an in depth conversation with anybody.
so yeah...steak and potatoes sounds much more appetizing than a 3 sentence conversation with mayer. and i'm a vegetarian! |

new email just came out:
Hey Cait, The Mayercraft Carrier, Sixthman and Reverb have a deep commitment to taking care of the environment and reducing our carbon footprint, and we are proud to announce our Mayercraft Carrier 2 Greening Program. Once again, Reverb will be joining us on board to help us hit our goal of neutralizing the Mayercraft Carrier's carbon footprint. However, we need you to make this happen! With the help of our host, Carnival Cruise Lines, we'll be undertaking a number of actions on board to help make this a more environmentally friendly cruise. Some actions include: a carbon offset raffle program, advanced wastewater treatment systems, extensive recycling programs and the use of low sulfur fuels. Not to worry, with Reverb's help we're going to make this process not only simple but fun too! The first step is to visit the Mayercraft Carrier 2 Greening Store to enter the Fan Carbon Offset Raffle Program . When you donate, you'll not only take home an exclusive organic cotton Mayercraft Carrier T-Shirt but you'll also be entered to win a ton of great prizes like:
In case you don't have a chance to donate online, you can also enter the raffle on board the Mayercraft Carrier 2 at the Reverb Green Spot, where you can learn all about keeping the planet green. At this time, we are also excited to announce the 2009 AKOG Mayercraft Carrier Beach Cleanup! Arriving a day early for the cruise and itching to get your Mayercraft on? Here is your chance. Reverb has coordinated a beach cleanup from 9:00 a.m. - noon at Pierpoint Landing just minutes away from the Queen Mary hotel! Long Beach area naturalist, Meaghan O'Neill will be on hand to give us a local history of our picaresque cleanup locale. And in exchange for your generous cleaning services, you'll receive an exclusive AKOG volunteer t-shirt to wear at the beach, as well as some delicious treats from Honest Tea and Clif Bar. To top it off, you will be one of a select few to enjoy a private beach concert by David Ryan Harris and Luke Reynolds !! Click HERE to get signed up now! Volunteers will be selected on a first-come-first-served basis. Way to be green you crafty Mayercrafters! |

Okay, the Mayercraft Greening Program has gone a way towards putting JM back in my good graces. Not that he cares, BUT HE SHOULD. A lot of the green
practices the cruise is touting are the bare minimum, but at least there is a barebones educational marketing advantage of the greening. I hope all the
drunken sailors hit the beach cleanup and fill a bag or two.
Wonder if Mayer will ever offer a carbon offset donation for his gas-guzzling cars? Mayer, you're 31. If you do anything other than make great music, pick a cause and walk your talk. Otherwise you look like a mouth-breathing, spineless, Johnny-come-lately-to-a-popular-cause weenie man. sigh. my expectations may be too high.....

It's too bad the beach cleanup is the morning of the 26th....I doubt most of the people going on the cruise will be in LA by then. If they would do it on
the 27th, I'd participate in a heartbeat!

They will probably get some local people, we are all pretty beach conscious around here. However. I have people to pick up from the airport that day. So
wish they would have mentioned this so we could have time to arrange it.

I was looking over the Mayercraft Greening Page, trying to read
if the Beach Cleanup was for the 26th or 27th, and saw that they added more to the eco-activities. Me, I'm particularly excited about Oxfam being there, a
class company, and the movie screening w/ Adam Gardner.
There's also some other events that involve the fine spirits such as wine tasting with David Ryan Harris & Erin McCarley. Personally I can't drink and neither do I want to so I'll leave that to the rest of you. One can go to a wine tasting w/o actually drinking the wine, right? |

well for those people who want to go wine tasting with DRH, let's hope it isn't scheduled the same time as other crucial cruise activities. last year
it was scheduled the same time as the mayer Q&A. kinda harsh to make someone choose between DRH and mayer, huh??
