Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	seems like he is going to give us a vid of part of Half of My Heart...however it isn't done rendering or it just isn't working Here's the very nascent stage of this song called "Half of my Heart"... there's a chorus that's done, but I don't want to give it away and have you sick of it before I even track it. As my own producer, the point of the entire game is to write without questions or fear. If it's not good, who cares?? I'll have good songs and I'll have bad songs in life, but if I fear 'bad' songs I won't be able to write anything from an honest place. I should be done with this song by mid-week, assuming I stay on point and keep on writing. This is fun... Glad you're along for the ride. JM there came a moment in the middle of the song when he suddenly felt every heartbeat in the room & after that he never forgot he was part of something much bigger...Brian Andres

I love you, John! I can't think of any other artist that lets us in his head so much, that even tries to take us along for the ride. I think all the pleas and failures and departures and digressions and revisions and reversals are real; it takes that--like moltings, like a pearl being created--to work and bump through to something good, something enduring. facile stuff doesn't last, in general, though some brilliant stuff blows in and hits in mere minutes. but I think even for fast stuff like that, you do have to be reaching for it.

And I love how John is letting us see how he is putting it all together. The "I can engineer the verses" part made me laugh. Another favorite singer/songwriter of mine masters the layering of different sounds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv4QBRS-U50 I saw him do this live in Chicago last summer. The people in the audience were mesmerized.
