I can't imagine Continuum was any easier because of the depth of some of those songs. We can't feel bad or sad for him when this is his chosen line of work. We have to appreciate what he's going through to make music for both us and him Not sure if Molemans a friend or foe but I agree 100% Creativity ebbs and flows no matter who you are...Thats life Besides he said he was shaking things up (out of his usual element)..may take even longer to settle into a groove this time.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. With all of his previous success, he's going to be disappointed if he does anything less than before, but at the same time, stepping out onto a ledge has to be one of the most freeing states of mind. Part of me doesn't want him to be scared to try something different out. He's said twice "i'll have good songs and bad songs." Why the repetition? All of the other additional stuff that he's doing to keep our attention makes me feel like he's hit a fork in the road, and he's afraid to take the wrong road rather than just valuing the journey. God bless music, because not only can it save you when you're writing it, but it can save you when you're listening to it. -- jm.

I mean Continuum was an awesome album (hence the grammies) so I think he's worried about producing an inferior product because he knows all ears will be on him. Maybe he'll relax a little when he really gets stuck into the production.

I'll write many songs in my lifetime. Some great, some OK - But I can't stall out of fear of failure - JM I don't believe in writer's block, it's just involuntary vacation - JM That's one too many plane crash nightmares for me. I'm going to start getting a rental car and driving in my dreams. - JM I too think he is having a hard time. I hope he isn't headed for a full blown panic attack. I am hoping that when he gets on the boat and gets around his true hardcore fans, something will click with him. So it's up to all you Mayercrafter's to let him see the love! OK that was a bit corny, but you know what I mean. TB... Go Big or Go Home!

Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Class act, I think he's his own worst critic...I have a feeling he's afraid of writing something that he feels is below his own strict standards...which is certainly not a bad thing. I am hoping at this juncture in his career he has the time to play and not the stress or feeling that he has to produce something within a certain time frame. I remember reading where he said he made a deal that nothing would ever get released after he died that he didn't want out there, I think it was in conjunction with something that Hendrix's sister had released... I am just hoping he takes the time he needs and is not pressured into putting something out just because some one gives him a time line. Wasn't there just an interview that said he is wealthy enough and that gives him the luxury of time? He needs to know that we will wait. Hope he can take his time, have some fun, let it come when it comes and not be forced to produce something just to prove he can.
