I'm new here and I don't know if this thread is the right to ask, but I'll try.. I'd like to simulate some of mayer's distortions and effects with my V-amp 2, if that is possible. Do you have suggestions of Vamp's effects, cabinets etc. for simulate mayer's sounds? Thanks since now ;D

It's already hard to get near his tone with the same pedals he uses, you know? Probably you should try to get the best clean sound, more similar to a Fenderrish thing, and for the ODs/distortions, keep it low gain. I don't really know how do a V-amp works exactly, but just thought I should help I'm brazilian, if you'd like to know. Sorry for any english mistakes!

Eu tenho lido bastante o manual do V-amp2 e vi bastante simulação de amp valvulado, dai tava procurando ver os melhores pra tentar chegar a um som similar ao do john. O Lance eh q eu toco de les paul tbm, então nem sei se vou conseguir um timbre tão parecido, mas só de tirar uma distorção beirando o valvulado já ficaria feliz. Hey guys, if you have any other suggestions, put here! thanks! PS: yeah, i'm brazilian.

The guitar pictured above is also NOT a Peavy EVH Wolfgang sig guitar which John has been pictured with before... a LONG time ago before he was famous. This one is a MusicMan guitar (the company Eddie had his 1st sig guitar with before he moved to Peavey.
