brett- one of kris' cats likes to try to take my glasses off by biting on them. thank goodness so far he hasn't done any damage.
called out sick today- had the job interview at the agency. it went well. i am emailing the office president tomorrow to thank her and also confirm that even though i don't have a car i'm still reliable. the recruiter thinks it's a jumpy point for her. i can see it- since the office is out in a business park on the edge of town...but it's not totally remote, and a bus would drop me about 2 miles away- then it's an easy bike ride in...and that bus runs early that i'd get there plenty early. i figure if i get the job, i'll rent a car for the first week just to transition. the head honcho for the hq in houston was there too...he seemed to like me. and in indirect networking he knew the old president of my old agency. the only thing that sucked about the location of the agency for today- the interview was at 2. without getting there at 7 am on the bus that runs right by the business park, i had to take a series of busses a bit farther north, then cab there and back to restart the series of bus rides. i got on my first bus at 950, and just got home at 733 (i did stop on way home for some tacos from torchys so should have been home before 7). ~ dawn

dawn, i'll give you props for living with out a car. I don't think I could ever do that. good luck with the job.
and these glasses, because of the bites, are similiar to looking through glasses while outside in the rain |

hey chuck- good...just doing what i have to do to pay the bills and still have a good time.
brett- its not that hard in austin- the buses take you everywhere- and for the most part run long enough. when i get a lazy moment and decide to cab instead, i still come out better than if i had a car and had to deal w/insurance and gas. there are times it'd be nice to be able to just drive off on a whim to run an errand or get out of the apt, but it's not too bad. i'm looking into getting a scooter to help out with that need. ~ dawn

i came into work this afternoon after being out sick the past 2 days. i didn't realize how bad i felt until i got up and started moving around. the worst
part is the one project i had to work on is already finished and i've got nothing to do but sit here for however long.

that birdhouse is ADORABLE
so, been a few days...they decided to block yuku at work..bleh. went to houston to see zac brown band tuesday night...those boys never fail to surprise me and amaze me. the audience was 95% virgins to zbb's live experience, and they were so enthralled...a couple of standing ovations. i was near tears. i know. i'm a sap. i hadn't heard him do it since 06, but they whipped out 'neon'...seeing clay cook, in zac's band, singing a cook/mayer song...that was a bit surreal. i got the job at the agency...woooo. start on the 4th. so excited to get back on a more traditional career path.... ~ dawn

other craziness is that our lease is up and we put notice in for end of may move...so now we're looking for a new place. a little frustrated because my roommate asked if i could cover more of the deposit because she'll have to have extra $$ for pet deposit. she's only tight on funds because she keeps calling out from work- she's probably missed $250 in pay over the last 6 weeks. i can do it, but i have to sacrifice going out....which i told her. the sacrifice even means missing matty nay here in a few weeks. and yet, she's now out for the second time this week...last night was cheap for her i know, no cover and cheap drinks...but tonight she's at a $15 cover show at a bar that is expensive. ~ dawn
