I am originally from AK and went back via cruise ship 2 summers ago and would be willing to bet that the MCC3 doesn't see that state.
"People are like boxes of colors. Sometimes you meet the standard 16 count. I like to consider myself the 64 count box with the sharpener in the back. Lately I've been meeting the jumbo 8 kind. Its like your talking to someone about magenta & she says 'Oh, purple. I know that game' & you're like 'no bitch I'm talking about magenta!" ~ JM |

I'm gonna bet that John's team knows his demographic and realizes a trip to AK would wipe out a lot of people's ability to go. John himself said
several times on the cruise that he knows times are tight and thanked us for (paraphrasing here) choosing to spend our $$$ on the cruise. If they want a lot
of people to return next year, they need to keep it cheap.
That said, I have been on MCC1 & 2 but probably won't do 3. It's strange but I had sooo much fun on MCC2, I don't even feel the desire to top it. I'm just...satiated. DH is doing a trip to Europe with his buddies next year for their 40th, doing our annual trip to DisneyWorld, something's gotta give and I really don't feel super compelled to go on MCC3. Although that may change in time.

I'm definitely on board for MCC3, wherever it goes! But, I really wouldn't mind if we did the same thing and went right back to Cabo. It was gorgeous
and I'd like to have time to explore it a bit more. Yes, the boat was rocking, but that was because we were HAULING ASS to get back to LA on time.
Doesn't mean it would be the same next time around...

There are plenty of good destinations, but when you narrow it down to only 4 day cruises the list is short. If you add days, you would knock a lot of people
out of the boat. (No pun intended).
I'm up for whatever, except maybe Alaska. I don't want to walk around the ship in my down coat. I am sure they aren't going to contact me for my opinion anyway. LOL As far as the Mexican drug wars going on, most of the violence is in the border towns. I am more concerned about the kidnappings. Obama is in Mexico City today. It is a daunting task going against the drug cartels. |

Cabo was great...exploring more would have been nice because once we hit the lounge chairs on the beach, we never got back up.
I don't know if it's true or not, but I was told there were a lot of storms going on that could have contributed to the rocky seas. I definitely plan to go on MCC3, but shorter and closer to home would be nice for me...not that I really want it to be shorter. I've been given a guilt trip for spending the money on myself and not on a family vacation to Disney. As far as the PDD, I have to snap out of it fast and kiss some major booty to insure that I'll be on the next ship!

The sun, the plants, the people, etc. It would worry me if I could be that sad about a cruise ending. Maybe you would be happier living by the beach. It's so wonderful. |

I am finally snapping out of it, though. Asspoo, it's just hard to go back to being a responsible adult after the time we had on that boat! Not to mention recovering from the lost sleep...we averaged 2-3 hours a night at best! |

The pit boss in the casino told us the reason the waters were so rough had nothing to do with the speed, but I find that hard to believe. That boat was
FLYING! He said it was solely because they'd had a lot of storms and a cooler than normal winter, so that makes the ocean 'churn' a lot more. For
the most part I kept giggling about being tossed around except when we heard this huge booming sound on deck one, over and over BOOM BOOM BOOM and one of the
crew said it was the anchor hitting the side of the boat. WTF?!? And is it true that 110 people got off at Cabo but didn't get back on because of the
rough seas? My friend told me she read that on the internet.

Leaving sunny, beautiful Cabo and returning to snow SUCKS!

Awww, as lovely as that sounds, Sus, alas it would take 10-12 days to get roundtrip from here to Hawaii and back...wah.
There are however lovely 4-5 night cruises from SD back to Cabo. I thought that was ideal actually, would go for the same again. John seemed to fancy this West coast jaunt...guess we'll have to wait and see! "I am severely full of shit 18 out of 24 hrs!" -JM ~Laila~ |

I'm really psyched for John's tour once the new album drops. I'm going to pick out each and every show in a warm clime and go to it with every penny of my discretionary spending money. Everyone cross your fingers for me winning a Meet and Eat. ;-) Yeah, Laila, I'm posting, happy? |

Just got this from Sixthman...
We certainly hope everyone is fully recovered from another incredible Mayercraft Carrier vacation and ready to have a great summer! We're excited to report that thanks to you, the fans, and through the efforts of Reverb and Sixthman, John Mayer's AKOG greening program was able to neutralize over 2,200 tons of CO2 emissions from this cruise by helping build new renewable energy projects. That's equivalent to keeping over 360 cars off the road for an entire year! Here at Sixthman HQ, we want to make sure you know what the future holds for the Mayercraft Carrier. The good news is that John has a new album coming out
(Battle Studies, woo hoo!) and will be touring next year, so get ready for him to come to you this time! However, this does mean that a 2010 Mayercraft Carrier
just won't be possible. It's important to us that we find the perfect dates and ports to ensure that another event will exceed the party created by
those on MCC2.
Take care, and we hope to see you soon. -Your friends at Sixthman

Three months is a long enough break from here, right? Eh?
And if stirring up this topic is a problem for ya, well, oh well. Mayercraft 2 = EPIC. That's all I can really say. I could post pics, I could post videos, I could try to write it out, but it can't do it justice. You hear about how GREAT it is, but hearing about it is nothing like being there. I miss it like crazy, and can't wait 'til #3, whenever that may be... As for this one, to those of you who post on this board that I got to talk to, I'm glad we got to kick it for a bit in PERSON, compared to through here. It was nice getting to meet a handful of you, and I'm glad we got the chance to have some good and real conversations...whether they were in the lounge on the side of the boat, on the dance floor when I reached "creeper-dance" status (around late-night), or at a counter at one of the bars...it was all a great time, and damnit, I can't wait until it can happen again. But honestly, could the trip have been any better? Mayer was the man, rockin' it out until the wee small hours of the morning, and I've got a new appreciation for everything from "Flashing Lights" by Kanye to "Billie Jean" to even "Waiting", thanks to Mayer singing over his own vocals...how cool would that be to get to do that in a club on a boat named after you? It was also great getting to see the debut of early versions of new songs...can't wait to see the real thing! As for the other artists, OAR has always been a favorite of mine, and DRH KILLED it on the boat! Ryan Shaw was also good, and Jessie Baylin is cool as hell. That girl is guaranteed to give you good conversation if you ever get the chance to sit and talk with her. But overall, gotta give this trip to the PEOPLE. Made friends I know i'll stay in touch with, and you GOTTA love it when the main motive for being on the boat is to have fun. Drinks were flowing and we all had a GREAT time... -drew.

I agree Drew, that boat was one hell of a time! I really hope they do MCC3 in 2011. I asked Cait if she ran into you on the boat and she did, but I'm
sorry I never got the chance to meet you as well! Maybe next time!
One a side note...I've been listening to a lot of Kings of Leon lately, and just read their article in Rolling Stone from this past April....and come to find out that their drummer, Nathan, is engaged to Jessie Baylin!! They met in 2006 in line for the bathroom at Bonnaroo! If there was a way to get them on MCC3 too....I think I just might die.
