I waste hours and hours (in a good way) on my RC-20xl... Especially now that I have a drum machine. It is so much fun to take an idea and blow it up to
orchestra sized proportions... if thats what you want. If you want a delay go for the DL-4.

The DL-4 has major reliability issues, check harmony-central or tgp for more information. If you get new, you might think about getting an extended warranty...

From a looping standpoint (if that's all you're looking for) That's great, but I fail to see where the OP said that's all he was looking for. What he did say, was that he started looking at pedals because his original delay got stolen. That would indicate to me that the primary objective here is to replace what was lost; i.e. the delay. And while doing so he stumbled on the idea of looking at looping options as well. In which case, the comparison of the RC2 to the DL4 is not making much sense; at least not to me anyway. |

i somewhat agree with edmund. while they both have looping capabilities, you're comparing 16 seoncds (DL4) to 16 minutes (RC2). if anyone acutlaly uses the
full 16 minute loop of the rc 2, i'd be impressed. as far as gigging goes, even if you're playing solo, the 16 secs should be plenty of time. even with
16 seconds you can still loop progressions and jam over them. and with all the delay options it offers, you really can't go wrong. it's a great unit.
there have been some reports of questionable reliability, but i wouldn't take them too seriously until oyu have one for yourself. unless you're kicking
the shit out of it on stage, you should be in good shape.

could you imagine laying down a loop for 16 minutes, and then mistiming the "end record" stomp....haha
---So here goes: close your eyes, get out of your own way, and JAM.---

I just picked up a DD-7 today and I'm definitely liking it...I literally had both pedals in from of me (DL4 and the DD-7) and the DL4 was very impressive
but to me the price was just too much for me right now. The DD-7 has some pretty solid delay features and a longer loop so I think I'll be happy with my
choice, thanks for all the info guys!
