I've got lots of Mayer shows

to be serious, music is art and therefore can't be objectified. there are formulas that will appeal to the masses, but it would be impossible to appeal to everyone, or not appeal for that matter

This is an interesting question. I think there can be sounds that are more or less pleasing to the ear. There are lyrics that are more meaninful or complex than others. Thre is definitely music out there that I do not care to listen to, but the complexity of the music and lyrics and the technical portions of the songs might fit in to my idea of good music. If it were to be decided that music could be judged by good and bad, where the line between good and bad is, I don't know.
