marlow, check this out... "variation of the Proto" |

I was browsing through Strat Centratl's database of FCS Strats, and stumbled across this, what lit would look like if a proto and a voodoo did it:

Cool site! Nice find l33t. I think that guitar would look sweet if it had a white or sunburst finish--I don't particularly like the natural finish with
that pickguard. But hey, that's why it's custom!
And just out of curiosity, how much does it generally cost to get a custom shop guitar made to your own specs? Like $6000-ish? |

I think you could get a team-built for like $3k maybe, masterbuilt for $4k+

people have asked mike, and he said that it varies by material, parts, hardware, woods, and other things. if you have only a few tweaks, it would be around
4500. that one there was most likely around 5800. I agree that it isn't too eye-pleasing with a natural/tortie/gold scheme.

but it can't really resemble anything else right? Like I wanted a custom shop charcoal frost metallic and they said they cant even do a racing stripe
anywhere on the guitar because it's too similar to Johns

legally, no. that is why if I were you, I would purchase a CFS Wildwood 10 and have it striped. or just get a 60s custom shop strat in that color and have it
striped by someone else.

ANOTHER VARIATION OF THE PROTO SURFACES... | ||

Um, I know that you know this Leet, but not everything with a left-handed neck is a Proto.
Red
VooDoo Strat There's the Mexi with the lefty neck, a dozen variations of the VooDoo Strat, the '68 RI NOS... the list goes on.
Its just getting a little silly around here. Sorry man, I might just be on edge from the constant mis-use of words. Dammit people, Architects design buildings, not computer systems, football teams, or governments. just a guy named john

I know, but I posted that picture because it was highly similar to the pic I posted. now that I look at it, it is closer looking to the voodoo minus the
pickguard. always wondered, is the TRY! guitar black or CFM?

It's black.

you have to admit, in the lighting for that pic, it looks almost like a CFM.
