I've never been before, wish I had more time but oh well. We're staying wiht a buddy in the LES and I'm looking for cool stuff to do or see. I don't really care about seeing the statue of liberty or the empire state building but I'll probably go check out the newly pedestrianized (is that a word? firefox says so) times square. Give me some tips. Sorry if this is a dupe, I searched the first few pages but you stupid liberals and conservatives have pretty much gummed up every search result with your 8927598758957 page threads.

Speaking as a resident of NYC the last 3 years...and having done nearly every touristy thing you can think of with family/friends, I don't turn down doing the Empire State Building. It is a little pricey, but you get a pretty fantastic view of all of NY...including all the boroughs and central park. If you're on the LES...you'll be near most of the music venues. There may be some good shows playing...if shows are your thing. You'll be real close to some great restaurants too. The Mets and Yankees opened up their new stadiums. I don't know...I mean, there's no shortage of stuff to do, but I don't know what you like to do.

I'll be up there in 2 weeks and need to hit up the places I missed last time. and for what it's worth, Top of the Rock is a good alternative to Empire State Building. besides, you'll get a great view of the Empire State Building! I saw it last month while visiting NYC and really loved it. Also, check out some of the free concerts in Bryant Park as well as those on the sets of GMA, CBS and the Today Shows. Great treats! This should be good. there's a jitney stop right by my office and people are so ridiculous with their luggage and lack of awareness that people still have to get by. that's what i think of when i think of the jitney. also, i love my town, but i'm so sick of this seattle-like weather & glad that it's going to be sunny for at least one day this week. ~jocelyn
