even though it wasn't at my home away from home, we saw the best show saturday night. it's nights like that that remind me how much i love the local music scene in this town.

started the night off with the bleeding hands- a newish band that has a couple of friends of ours. they are still a bit rough, but every time i see them they get better and better. in about 6 months they are going to be fucking amazing. they play like a punk/r&b mix...hard to describe.

then more friends of ours took the stage, pendergast. working class rock. they just finished up the new cd, and the hard work is evident...i love their bio: ...bare bones indie americana/ rock and roll band.... their raw, ragged, roots pop preaches the gospel of rock and roll and the redemptive power of loud guitars, whisky, sex, and heartbreak. the rock and roll revival continues. pendergast is doing its part... taking music to the people, extolling the virtues of the working class.

and then we finished the night with crazy talk. they are pure 80's inspired heavy metal...but with a groove that has you dancing. usually this isn't my thing, but for whatever reason, wayne and the boys have me coming back over and over again.
