The problem is not the medicine, it is the lobbying by Merckfor the mandatory usage of their vaccine (at retail cost no less). Cervical cancer, while prevalent amongst women, is not polio or measles or mumps. It is not an airborne health risk.

You can choose not to have sex. Therefore, you should be able to choose whether you have the vaccine. Given that one cannot choose to breathe, mandatory vaccinations that prevent airborne plagues do make sense. But mandatory vaccination for controllable behavior does not.
