See, that's exactly where I feel lacking in this arena... I know investing and socking away money for the later years is important, but I have zero understanding of what's good to do, what's bad to do, which types of investment strategies/options are going to best fit my needs and goals, etc.

That's why I was hoping for some sort of book, to explain this stuff more clearly in layman's terms.

I bought the book, Get a Financial Life. I'm starting to read that, and will probably look into the Suze Orman books, too. I'm also curious to see if that Jean Chatzsky or whatever, the Today Show money correspondent who is also editor or something of Money magazine, has a book out. Or maybe just starting to read a few back issues of that magazine too would be a good jumping off point.
