The whole 12th South area is pretty cool, and Serendipity is a great store.

Likewise, Hillsboro Village...Pangaea for shopping (clothes, jewelry and home decor), Posh for higher end jeans and such, Bookman for the best used books in Nashville (altho they can get pricey on rare stuff), and the aforementioned Pancake Pantry. Oh, and Fido for coffee, sister to Bongo Java.

Green Hills mall is cool, and yes, as was mentioned, pricey, but it has a Sephora and a Crabtree & Evelyn (love the goatmilk soap.) Am still lamenting the loss of Metropolitan Deluxe. And is now the home to what WAS Nashville's best new bookstore, Davis Kidd, which is not as cool as it was when it was in a plaza. And has a Cheesecake Factory.

I have been told that if you go into Grimey's and Mike Grimes is working (lucky you, he's a cutie) he can give you a music suggestion just by looking at you, and you will LOVE it. And they have great stuff too...it's also in the same building as the Basement, for good concerts.

Ah, Berry Hill...Venus & Mars resale vintage clothing, lots of other great shops including a tea house I've been meaning to visit and haven't. Also near Berry Hill, good eats...one of Calypso Cafe's locations, the Yellow Porch, Baja Burrito.

If you're going to be in town over a weekend, go to Centennial Park for a free performance of MacBeth by Nashville Shakespeare Festival.

There are celebrities everywhere if that's your thing...I used to work at the West End Borders Books, across from Centennial Park, and regulars are Keith & Nicole (sold him Family Guy DVDs) & Ben Folds. I also saw Garrison Star doing karaoke at a bar a few weeks ago, if anyone has heard of her.

And just to be campy, grab a Nash Trash tour. =)
