Let's talk mission, shall we?

On Tues evening, Holly (Hollywood) and I had the pleasure of watching DRH perform in front of a crowd (gathering? small group?) of probably 30-40 people. Yeah, it was unfortunate, numbers-wise. Even more unfortunate was the fact that Holly and I cut in front of a woman in a wheelchair so we could be upfront so that Dela could see the "Dela Says Hi" sticker Holly was wearing. I couldn't find mine before I left home, so I suck.

The show was good. Kevin "the skeeze" Lovejoy was the same as always, JJ brought new life to a lot of the songs, and Dela was his usual short, but cool self. Actually, preshow, I didn't recognize his profile and thought Dela was the 16 year old opener. But, I digress.

So, we had a mission. Holly and I came in confident and then forgot we feel like morons when we try to get friendly/take pics with musicians who probably have a celebrity rating below Kathy Griffin's. So, we hemmed and hawed about what to do. Finally, we saw and opening post-show when Dela was packing up his own gear (my,my how things change). We ended up shooting the shit with him for awhile (see the Dela thread in JMc for details on that), which led to us asking for a pic. He quickly agreed. Oh but who was going to take it? Who? Who? Oh wait! Is that Scotty I'm so cool I practically wear sunglasses at night Crowe? Oh and good thing! Because part of his job description for the past 5 years has been taking pictures! It couldn't have been more perfect. So, we asked Scotty to take it, which he reluctantly did (probably only because he feared showing Dela what an ass he really can be). Here is the product:

BOY, CAN THAT ROAD JOURNAL MASTER DUDE CAN TAKE A PICTURE! AM I RIGHT FOLKS??

Later on, I will admit, we also asked Scotty for a pic, but as soon as he started making a face, I cut him off with, "No, nevermind. Later."

That was our night in a nutshell. I think we should get 5 bonus points for having Scotty take the pic.
