My best guesses for Grammy nods this year are probably Best Male Pop Vocal for either Say or Free Fallin'. That's JM's category -- he's won it every time he was nominated for it, except 2 yrs ago when he was nominated for The Village Sessions.

I don't know if we'll see another Song of the Year for Say, but it would be nice. Also ironic, considering that the other SotY Grammy nod was for Daughters, and combined, neither song is really representative of what we might consider JM's best work. I think he had the right attitude on it -- not going to argue with success, just keep doing your own thing.

I think a nod for WTLI as an album overall (either Album of the Year or Best Pop Album) is a longshot. Not that they aren't masterpieces, and not that they aren't deserving, but there are a lot of albums that came out this year which will probably eclipse WTLI, and I would also say that WTLI isn't as complete a work as Continuum was -- and that was deservedly nominated. (Comprehensive? Yes.) Frankly, I think Alicia Keys' "As I Am" will clean up this year -- she'll get at least 3-4 nods for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, R&B Album of the Year, Best Female R&B Vocal, and on and on. "No One" was nominated last year because the single came out before the record, but I have a feeling this is Alicia's year, and rightfully so. That was one hell of an album and she's proven herself again and again in terms of musicianship, appeal and performance.

I would love to see Johnny reel at least one in this year... and seeing him perform will be fantastic as well.

She's the wisest pony in all of Ponyville.
