Yuku decided to make this one difficult to figure out... so I thought that I'd post a little 'how to' in the MF index.

1. Find your video (you can browse thru the yuku tools for a video - but its a lot easier to have it open first.)

2. Copy the embed code from the youtube video page & head into MSM (or the browse tab that you've got open in MSM already)

3. Hit the 'Add/Reply' button or start a new thread. Either way - it brings up the same post window.

4. In the main titlebar at the top of the screen, to the right of the smiley face is the 'Insert Flash' Button. Push that.

5. That brings up another toolbar below the original default on. In here you can search for videos, but like I said - its A LOT easier if you've got the video code already.

6. All the way on the right-hand side of this new toolbar is a blue button for 'Add from HTML'. Push that.

7. This brings up another window, into which you paste the embed code that you copied from the youtube location. 'Cntrl-V' the copied code into the window and click 'Insert'.

8. Your video is now embedded.

Tips & Notes: A few things to mention about how Yuku handles embedded video.

  • Hit Enter a couple of times before you insert the video otherwise, its nearly impossible to get text above a video, or any key strokes really.
  • Yuku tends to freak out if you post more than 2 videos. It will only show 2, and if you post 3 - it'll delete all your text and only display 2 videos in your post. (I've seen it work with multiple videos in a single thread with text - so this might have been 'fixed'). But If you're flooding the thread with videos, I suggest 2 vids per post.
There you go. I hope that this sheds a little light on how to use the forum function.

Thx

John
