Does he really need to play waiting on the world to change every single night?


Unfortunately, yes he does.. Remember, the vast majority of the fans who go to a show are only going to see him once. They're unfamiliar with what was played the night before in a different town, and have no idea what will be played the following night. They don't realize the setlists are being repeated.

I would also venture a guess that 75% of the people at his show like the "hits" and are unfamiliar with the deep tracks..

That said, if memory serves me right, he has a tendency to play it "safe" with the setlists early on, and as the tour continues (and the band gels) the setlist expands and loosens up a bit. I expect to see a bit of variation when the US dates start (at least I hope).
