Yes, they were. My husband and I had flown all the way from Portland, Oregon just to see this show. It was definitely worth it. We had a blast. We were in 3rd row center. We paid a lot of money for the tickets but it was worth every penny. John wasn't coming to us, so we had to go to him! It was fun to be the first he played for after the grammys. He walked out on stage and had what looked like a two day stubble--most likely had not shaved since the grammys. He walked up to the mic and said, "I'd like to thank..." and went on to thank all of the people that I'm assuming he forgot at the grammys. Then he said, "Oh yeah, and my awesome fans!" Everyone screamed and he started playing Bigger Than My Body. What a great song to open with. I hadn't got to hear that one live before, and I was really hoping to hear it this time arond. But what I really wanted more than anything was to hear I Don't Trust Myself. I hadn't got to hear that one last September. I just about died when he played it. It was the highlight of the night for me. I think he's been really into that song right now, because he has been playing it more than ever lately. It was so incredible live! Even better than the MSN concert version that I thought was unbeleivable. It was a real treat to hear Slow Dancing acoustic, too. Just like on Village Sessions. Although I might have been a teeny bit dissapointed if I hadn't already heard the full band version last September already. But now, I've got to hear both versions live. He closed the show with Neon (full band version), one of my favorites. I was loving it, but it seemed like a lot of people around us didn't know the song. Whatever. So I had a fabulous time. My husband kept yelling out "Love Soon!". He was ecstatic when John played a portion of it in Why Georgia. And he got to take home a guitar pick that he threw out to the crowd as he left. Yeah. It was awesome. But I am rambling now...

Anyway...

When we were checking our bags at the airport getting ready to fly back to OR the next morning, an employee there told us that her friend was at the bar Bunkers and saw them there together on Monday the day before the show. More on this and pictures here:

I also heard that she was at the show, apparently by the sound board in plain sight. Before the show started I wondered if she would be there. I would do a double take everytime I saw a head of long, pretty blonde hair. But after the show started, I forgot all about her. I'm not a fan anyway and it's not like I was there to see her. But it was kind of weird to find out that she was about 50 feet behind me the whole time. But I had forgotten that she had gone brunette untill I saw the pictures from the bar. So I am thinking I probably wouldn't have recognized her anyway even if I had walked right by.

Whew! Sorry if that was a really long read. Hope that answered your question. Loved the show. Ok, that is all.
