Almost everyone who listens to music most likely applies their own personal experiences to a song whether that's the intention of the songwriter or not. I don't see what's wrong with admitting a song cuts a little too close to the bone because of personal experience. It doesn't invalidate her opinion of the song nor does it invalidate the song's merit. She was simply sharing.
