Old sloppy noodle with Tweed Blues Jr., which I think sounds pretty good..not my playing.  I really didn't like Black Tolex Jr., spend a few more bucks for Tweed NOS. Tweed Jr is a good amp for low bedroom or recording volume, which at this level gives you best chance to dial in a JM like tone, but when cranked, Jr. gives more of a Rolling Stones to Buddy Guy like tone (not saying it's bad).

I get concerned when JM fan had coin to buy a JM Sig Strat and tries to get JM like tone from Blues Jr, which often ends up with amp being modded, buying too many pedals to help color tone, etc, which in the long haul cost as much as a little TR, which gets you closer to JM tone with a MIM Strat plugged straight in. Little purchases add up... be careful, I've got enough stuff to open a small guitar store.
