This guitar has been mysterious and almost mythical throughout my youth. Like its the friggin' AGT guitar which is embedded in my brain -the mythical impossible tone. It is the guitar John played a million awesome songs with.. all those rare tapes and all. ..The stories and misconceptions. All of Come back To Bed and Covered In Rain.. Its the one which made him famous. This is the real John Mayer guitar. And now I'm seeing it up close in HD almost like in person. John is talking to me and feel like I'm in the cameraman's point of view. THis was magical to a fanboy like me.
Very cool to read, thanks for sharing!!

I always thought his SRV was one of the few SRV Brazilian board units, but it's clearly Pau Ferro.  Tonally, I find them a wee bit spankier or brighter than RW, would effect tone a little.

Yeah smiley: pimp I could go on forever. Its also the only SRV sig guitar played with Double Trouble on an SRV song other than Stevie himself at least publicly. It has played alongside 3 generations of blues legends around the world.
