This album definitely sinks in and gets better and better the more I listen. The first time I heard the entire thing I felt a little short changed and slightly disappointed, but now I'm really liking Paradise Valley.

I really don't understand why Frank Ocean's Wildfire was included as part of this album. John has cut some incredible songs off albums because he claimed they just didn't fit the tonal "fingerprint" of the album (to this day I STILL don't understand why Good Love is On the Way was cut from Continuum...it should have closed out the album and would have served as the perfect ending to the love/relationship continuum storyline) If you check the writing credits, it wasn't written by Frank but instead by Christopher Breaux. I don't know...maybe the song has some sort of meaning behind it, but I absolutely don't understand this track. As a song, I enjoy it but I don't yearn to hear it.

I love every single track up to Frank's Wildfire. You're No One Til is still really hard for me to get my ears around. It's a little too country for me at this point, but I'm wondering what I'll think about it in a few weeks.

Badge and On the Way Home are nice tunes.

I'm glad there's a good amount of guitar playing on this album. That's one of the things that sets it apart from Born and Raised if you ask me. Overall, I think Paradise Valley is a nice "next chapter" in the Mayer chronology.
