Yesssss, come to the dark side!!!

Did you realize the notes on the C#minor pentatonic are the same than the Emajor ones?
You can improvise using both.

The key is def C#

I have to kindly disagree. The key is E major for me. When I think "key," I think resolution. Also, just because the song begins on a chord doesn't mean that's the key. For instance, Isn't She Lovely also begins on C#m, but the resolution is definitely on the E, as Slow Dancing is. E and C#min scales share the same notes, but E is where "home" is. It's not even necessarily where the song ends either, because sometimes songs can end on the 4 chord or otherwise, but it's the feeling. If I end on a C#min, being the 6 minor, it would feel very unresolved. To me, saying the song is in C#min is the same as saying it's in Gb Dorian, A Lydian, or B Mixolydian. They have the same notes, but the key center is within E for most all of the song in terms of resolution.

Influence.
