Straight from John!

"Slow Dancing is in E, as C#m is the 6 minor chord in the diatonic key of E. However, when I'm soloing over the actual chord of C#m, I'm playing over it as if it was the 1 chord in the key of C#m. The E major pentatonic is the exact same scale shape as the C# minor pentatonic, except I embellish the scale quite differently when I'm playing over the C#m as opposed to the other chords. So think of it as playing over changes in a very basic way; C#m pentatonic over the first chord in the progression and then E major pentatonic for the rest. E minor pentatonic also works over the whole thing, though it's a different "flavor" that sort of changes the tone of the message if I decide I want to take the end of the song that way."

Great topic guys.
