Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the differences between polyester and polyurethane. One of my old Strat bodies is finished in polyurethane, and I'd like to strip and repaint it. I've heard of people using heat guns to strip the thick polyester finishes, but can this (or should it) be done for polyurethane as well? I hear that polyurethane is much thinner, but not as thin as nitrocellulose. After a long while of reading the old nitro vs. poly arguments, I never really thought if "poly" included polyester. Any recommended stripping tips?
