With the recent update in the Instagram app allowing users to be notified when someone they follow posts a new photo, it's far more likely that someone is going to see a new photo than me (considering I'm one of the last people on earth who doesn't have a cellphone). And I feel like I'm hoarding information if I don't share it. So, below is a detailed explanation of how to embed an Instagram photo or video (same process for both).
Embed Code:
<br><br><iframe class="Iframe" src="//instagram.com/p//embed/" width="612" height="710" alt="embed" /></iframe>
You want to put the last portion of the photo or video's URL between the two forward slashes, after the "p." (Indicated in bold.)
Example:
The latest photo's URL is https://instagram.com/p/1jYUZiOEdP/. So the embed code would be: <br><br><iframe class="Iframe" src="//instagram.com/p/1jYUZiOEdP/embed/" width="612" height="710" alt="embed" /></iframe>
The way I embed the photo or video is, when I open the "Post a Reply" window, I click "HTML View" icon (to work in HTML), then paste the embed code, add last portion of the video or photo's URL between the forward slashes, then click the "HTML View" icon again (to return to the regular view). After that, if the photo or video is visible, I add John's comment, then post.
The best way to get the photo or video's URL is to right-click and select "Open in new tab", instead of left-clicking the image.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask here or DM me.
