Well I'm not saying that these are the only kinds of people that should exist in John's loyal fan base. I'm just defending those that are like that. It takes all kinds of people and tolerance levels to make John's music churn. I've never denied that. Besides, I know plenty of KG teachers who do not believe in the Golden Rule

I'm just saying, shouldn't there be a cut off point as to what is humane and reasonable?

Great recs Good Good. Why do post such captivating things that compel me to respond and break my word of staying off these boards. You have a sneaky way of making me look like a superficial girl . I think I will amend my threat to quit these boards to say I will only to respond to you, the issue of catfighting or if Mayer comes up with anything new. Although I will miss posting about books and other music, since I don't seem to be welcome in those forums . . .

Anyway, Good Good. I think you'd like The Lines Begin to Blur by the Nine Inch Nails. Not exactly a pick me up when you're feeling down and out, but sometimes he's knows how to capture the ugliness that resides in all of us from time to time. But its better to put it in a song than aim at people in life. That's what I say:

Staying in on an abusive message board doesn't always make one masochistic. I know from my perspective I have tried to use these boards as test of strength and endurance. Regardless of what people around here may think, I have noticed that there are live human beings behind these postings and have built some kind of attachment to the community at large. I can say I am more drawn to MSMers than anyone else. They are some of the more interesting people I've come across in life and in cyberspace. Its tough to find cool "soulmates" in life so when you're drawn to people because of certain quirks, eccentricities and interests, you kind of don't want to lose a good thing and join in on the fun. So there is an emotional element of wanting to tough it out and make things work for the sake of human connection with cool minded people, not through some gluttonous need for tortuous pain. In some worlds, some might call that a form of "love". As lovey as it can get for people you've never met and don't know a whole lot about in life. So I disagree with you there.

And, when you love people, you want everyone to be happy. So you do whatever is in your power to try to faciliate that happiness. If words on a message board are all you have at the moment (especially if combat occurs on the message boards and the problem occurs because of message board communication), its what you use. If reducing your posts to please a small group of people who can't stand you but have gone through great lengths to influence the minds and eyes of everyone else, you make that sacrifice. It doesn't mean that's easy to swallow or do. And with the effectiveness of bullies ousting you out of a situation, the problem lingers. Then it resumes with someone else and someone else and someone else. That's the part that goes missing. On one hand, you think if you know the cause of a problem, it should be easy to solve it. If the cause of unrest is undue hatred, it should be easy to zap the cause and just say I have no real reason to act hatefully to this person or to provoke them into acting hatefully. Why is that so difficult? They make the choice not to disrupt the cause. So that's when you think, what can I and others do to zap that cause if it hurts enough people? It doesn't seem enough that people should just turn the other cheek. It also doesn't seem sufficient to fight fire with their brand of fire if the problem is big enough. So, if some kind of fire should be lit, the question becomes what kind of fire?

Too many questions, but that's my side and I'm sticking to it. . .
