Chuck, you're a bitchface.
Pete Yorn is good. You can be assured that it is worth buying the cd. Cheap bastard. |

I picked up the new album. I think it's awesome, better way better than his last album (not the live one, the studio one) and comperable to his first album. Real solid.

When I worked at Wherehouse Music I used to get in fights all the time with a coworker of mine who was obsessed with Pete. I even bought 2 of his albums because he had me thoroughly convinced he was good. Then one day as I was listening to Day I forgot, I realized that he sucks. BIG TIME. And sold them back to the store used for whatever money I could get for them.

I hate that the Pete Yorn thread ends in a negative.
I love Pete, and I just recently got into him. Day I Forgot sucks and most of his fans will tell you that, but musicforthemorningafter and his new Nightcrawler are fantastic. Sooo amazing. Everyone should try to get their hands on a copy of his unreleased EP Westerns. It can only be bought at shows or on eBay, but it's definitely well worth any hassle. I may also have a copy to upload for anyone who tells me I'm pretty. I saw him about a month ago in his Three Nights in Three Cities tour at the Roxy in LA. One of my top 5 shows, the energy was ON. ![]() - Jen

yeah I really didn't like musicforthemorningafter either.
To keep it positive, or maybe just not negative, I had a friend who worked for a music label and was obsessed with Pete, so much that he made friends with him (he had access through the label) and would show me every email or text message he would get from him. He was so gayly in love with Pete. So yeah, there are people out there who do like him. |

That would be creepy. Could you imagine being a musician or celebrity and thinking someone was a friend of yours, but they're secretly obsessed with you?
I'd be so weirded out to find out that one of my friends gets freaks whenever I send them a text. - Jen

Quote: I'm certainly not in that camp. It's certainly not as strong as his debut, but I still think it's well above "sucks". |

I dont' love "Day I Forgot" either, but I do love Music and the latest album as well as that new EP. He's been pretty consistent thus far.

Quote: Ok, maybe "sucks" was too harsh a word, but it's definitely not at the same level that Music, Nightcrawler and Westerns are at. Maybe "least best of the four albums" is better phrase. His live show is just fantastic though. - Jen

I have to top Pete Yorn.
I just saw him tonight and fell in love again. The man puts on an energetic and amazing live show. I was stuck up in the balcony (my friend wasn't feeling well and needed to sit through the show) I was still pulled in and loved every minute. For those of you that haven't checked out his new CD Nightcrawler - Do it now!!!! Oh, and I got to meet him tonight and he was just the sweetest guy. -gush- haha. - Jen

I may have to get a Pete Yorn CD's soon. Last night's show at the Roxy, The 16th Annual Gimme Shelter benefit , featured Pete and his band to close the
night with a solid set of his music and it was good! Phatom Planet, Matthew Sweet & Suzanna Hoffs, Donovan Frankenreiter, Mandy Moore, Jessica Hoop and a
couple of others (that I missed due to a late arrival) all played 4-5 songs in this four hour charity event. While all turned in good sets, my favorite was
Mandy Moore who's lovely voice and beauty graced the stage better than the rest. Yes, Michael Chavez was there to lend his guitar talents to her songs
which included Extraordinary, Wild Hope, and Joni Mitchell's Help Me. 'Great music and all for a good cause.

I adore Pete, he puts on such a great live show.
I still think his first album is by far the best but the others are all good in their own right. The Westerns EP is also pretty awesome.
Love Shelley :)

I can't stop listening to "Live From Soho 2009". It's an incredible acoustic set. I like it better than what I have heard of his studio
albums. I saw Pete open for Crowded House a few years ago and even though I liked him I just recently started listening to his music. I think that he is a
talented songwriter and musician.
