I would go as well if I had a roommate and knew a bit more about what my financial situation was going to look like as the year panned on. When's the last
possible date to book at the cheapest price? Will this thing fill up?

Elliot...not sure when the last date possible is to book...prob depends on how well it fills up right now. I just got an email from johnmayer.com about it
yesterday that said it goes on sale July 16 for the general public I guess. But, the longer you wait, the more you might have to pay because I bet the cheaper
cabins go first. You might end up only having some of the higher-end cabins to choose from if you wait very long. Just my opinion though.

So how does it work then? It's cheaper if you get multiple people in a room, right? Essentially, what's the cheapest this would be for me and
generally, what would someone guess I'd be paying in airfare from Detroit leaving from a major hub? I could scrounge up the money for this if I really
wanted to. Hell, I have a couple pedals I could sell that I don't play that would pay for it. Do we know what other bands are playing yet?

the more people you get in a room the cheaper it gets you can go on the site and see the pricing... we opted for the cheaper inside cabin...We are going on the rockboat the week before and we doubt for a three day trip we are going to spend much time in there sleep and shower..........3 of us in a room and it was just 1.995.00 so about 665.00 each that is the doc fees taxes everything.... if you get another person might be less anyway not sure, but the rockboat sold out minutes after it opened for the public...so I would think the best bets would be the presale.. more selections of cabins..especially if you are looking for a triple or quad as there are not as many of those I really doubt if they will start announcing the other acts until this is just about booked up. no need ...have a feeling this will book up on Mayer's name alone debbie

yeah I gotta agree...That would be my fear...some strange people out there
go to enough concerts bad enough to stand near them...couldn't fathom having to sleep with them 
then I am sure people will say.... well I have had some great experiences with blindate roomates so???? hope you get lucky...should be a fun cruise... never had a bad time on a rockboat, some of the best.... even in that storm off the gulf debbie

I think I'd have a blast. I'm hoping we'd get an eclectic mix of artists. I'm sure we'll get DRH which I'd love, but some blues guys
like Buddy Guy would be awesome and hell, I think it'd be sweet if he brought Steve and Pino along to do some Trio work. I wish he'd make a blog post
with more of his thoughts on this. One fear I kinda have is that he's not real into this and it's just going to be dialed in on all levels. I can
understand not knowing exactly what artists, but it'd be nice to know the genres we can expect. A bit more of an idea. I feel like with Mayer it could be
really up in the air.

Debbie posted pretty much what I was going to tell you Elliot. I got a 3 person cabin as well and the price was about what she stated. You can book airfare
whenever you want to, you don't have to do that now, so there's plenty of time to shop for that. As for the roommate thing, yes, I would agree
it's a bit unnerving, but you sound like a smart enough guy, so I'm sure you can judge from conversation on here if someone would be a decent enough
roommate. Just depends on how bad you really want to do this cruise. I would be the other acts on the boat are similar to what John's opening acts have
been over the years. Most of them have been great I think, so this should only enhance the cruise. Yet, it may book up quickly just based on him alone
though. Kinda hard to judge since this is the first time for it. Hope you end up going!!

As for my experiences with roommates - it was just a personality issue, I think - she didn't try to kill me or anything.

Dude, I know...it's sad, but I don't even really care about Mayer. Don't get me wrong, that will be cool, but I just like the idea of going on a
cruise with music in general. I'm really, really hoping he brings some legitimate blues acts aboard. I'm going to look at a few more things and figure
it out over the weekend. Can we bring guitars?

I have a quad cabin and it came to about $650 total for me, including fees and all. Definitely hit the pre-sale, those quad cabins go quick.

super excited to be on the boat with some awesome music. never been on a cruise before and hope i don't puke. i also hope my two roommates aren't
