Apparently John shot a video for this song, is this supposed to be that song that he wrote for a movie. Anyone know much about it? By the way I got this from

got this through a google search, not sure if it's accurate but it says that the song is for a movie called The Bucket List with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. I watched the trailer, looks like a possibility.

Well, as always, I'm honored. It's not the first time for an Oscar playin' the
role of a poor white person's friend who narrates the film. Same old, same old. Kind of old hat for me. I've made a career out of helping white folks solve their problems in movies. Savin' their lives, givin' them advice…but no more! No, sir. I think it's time Morgan Freeman helped himself. And I'm not talkin' about saving the world. I'm not talkin' about making people laugh. I'm talkin' about a grade A, flat out, no holes barred love scene. I wanna get freaky with some young hottie like every other leading man over fifty. Hell, I'm runnin' outta time. No more advice like, "Get busy livin,' or 'Get busy dyin.' I just wanna get busy. Period. I don't wanna be drivin' Miss Daisy. I wanna be ridin' Miss Daisy. And you know, come to think of it, I've made fifteen films with Ashley Judd. What's a brother gotta do to get some of that? So please, if anybody's listenin', write me a script where there's a love scene. And when you see me in the bed, I'll show you a true Oscar-winnin' performance. |

Anyway.. John said it was a bitter sweet movie so.. this one fits the bill. Thanks Chimpy for the heads up. Looks good, I think Morgan and Nicholson will take it above the cheesy oversentimental level.. |

I must admit, I'm very interested in hearing the song. I was watching the trailer looking for something Mayer-esque, but they probably didn't put the
song in the trailer. From the looks of the it, I have to say it has the feel of a male version of Beaches.
 But you've got two Oscar winners on screen with Rob Reiner as director.
You've all the ingredients for a Best Picture Oscar.
Although Morgan Freeman has not had his Wesley-Snipes-love-scene moment, he has played the President of the United States, God and baseball bat wielding principal, Joe Clark. That's not too bad. The closest thing to a love scene would be the brief kissing scene with Renee Zellweger in Nurse Betty, but I'm sure no one really remembered that or saw that movie. It's very cool that John decided he wanted to be a part of this. Best case scenario, he'll get a nomination and get to perform it at the Oscars next year. |

Funny you mentioned Renee Zellweger. I'm no gossip and don't know a lot about this lady, but I've often thought she would be a perfect woman for John. John and Oscar? Who knew those two things could even be mentioned in the same sentence? I would love to see that happen.
