We're all here because we all share the Mayer in common, aren't we? Why treat another fan this way? Has it ever occurred to you that Mayer
appreciates all of his fans like children?

The holidays always make me think of the people that have flown in and out of my life. This year, I've
been thinking about one person I love that I lost touch with a few years ago. Of course I started to write about it. This person knew how I felt about the
"breakup" back then, but it feels important to validate it in a poem one more time, as a reminder of an important life lesson.
I saw you mope to work today.
Your glasses tipped crooked.
Your coat hem hung tattered with a fray.
It used to be I'd sew that up for you.
I'd patch your troubles.
But now you've got someone new to.
Three birthdays have come and gone. Did you get the gifts I sent?
You don't have to want them.
Just a gracious acceptance that tells me our love is all but spent.
Remember that day you fondly grabbed my arm and told me I'd make a good wife?
I gave my feminist scowl
But we'd revel in laughs and faith, for I knew I'd always be part of your life
Always the power couple, you and I, with dreams to take the world by storm.
What proud weird clowns we were!
Never bothered or cared to grace other minds with propriety and form.
People and things flew into our lives, but one rock idea never left sight.
If we were out of our minds,
we rested easy in a bond that would always stay tight through the flight.
But when you "found your way" another, you cried fraud, that I played a phony part.
You chose to believe I used you
to distract myself from warming the cold spaces in my heart.
Darling, you never knew the chances at love that fell into my lap and almost seized.
I silently chucked them away.
Through the part of a blind man, I used my true love to keep you competitively pleased.
If I was so wrong, why etch in stone a reasonable error of youth?
Inexperience didn't leave YOU flawless.
Through our first bouts of love, imperfection was an inevitable truth.
But I could do nothing to convince you that my love was real.
My love was true.
I gave all that I had to zap your "zombie" and to show you how to feel.
But you sent me at bay.
You gave yourself away.
With the years that we had, it quickly got undone.
It's easier for you not to love what is gone.
Maybe you still feel traces of love.
For you, I always see the great white dove.

Why so pissed? People are dying in the world and you get fucked up over a comma?
Love is the answer and you know that's for sure. . .
