I just saw this hilarious ad for the upcoming film "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" with JM in it. So apparently, as JM says in a straight
sullen-filled face, he is the bastard-child of Dewey Cox. ROFL! John really has shown great acting chops (if you can call it that) and comic timing with his
ads/cameos for the Mayer Cruise, Alicia Keys' MTV skits and now this. I smell a debut acting role in a movie in 2008 ya'all! He could even do the full
soundtrack for it now that he's got his feet wet with The Bucket List. Just as long as he doesn't go all Glitter on us. edited to add: Sorry, I failed
to mention that the ad was on VH1, if you want to catch it.

Oh, thanks for posting that video LaiMaiTai21.
That seems to be the full-length version of the ad. with other musicians. The one I just saw on Vh1 only featured John Mayer in it. And no, never heard of Try JM, but thanks for the link. I'm gonna bookmark it. |

I was watching The Best Year Ever yesterday and there was a shorter version of this promo where John says "bastard" instead of
"son-of-a bitch" and then the camera cuts back to John where he's looking very sad and pensive. Very funny.

John was just on "the last word" on comedy central which was a fake interview with dewey cox and his band. he was playing dewey's first
wife's new lover. pretty funny.
