Just got back from the movie showing.....WOW. Unbelievably good! I can't wait to get my DVD in the mail and watch it all over again. They did cut a lot,
but it's still worth every penny. Really cool to see it on the big screen. Everyone in the theater was clapping & cheering just like a real show.

Yea. Out of My Mind blew me away! Also, I loved the credits! All in all, the movie was great. Too bad Indy got it wrong and didn't show it on the IMAX!
WTF? It was just digital, not IMAXeriffic. Sad. O wells. It was still good!

right so i saw it on the big screen in brooklyn. dunno if anybody else was there?? slow dancing was NOT in the big screen version so...i dunno if they edited
it out just for feature-length purposes but overall it was awesome. i'm so glad i got to see it in a theater with great sound because it really SOUNDED
amazing...and of course a giant version of mayer a few feet in front of you doesn't hurt...
people in the theater were clapping between songs??? anybody else have that happen. i wanted to yell at them that i'm pretty sure john's not in here so STFU...but i was with my mother so i held back my profanity.

John Mayer + popcorn + a couple of "snuck-in" mini bottles + me by myself = love
So glad I made a point of seeing it on the big screen. It was magnificent, but I was left feeling so regretful that I hadn't seen this live. If you were one of the lucky ones who did, pat yourself on the back, for you saw greatness. You know, I've seen all of the Mayer incarnations over the years, and each time I thought YES, the boy's got it going on, but seeing all three together had me saying to myself, "Clapton? You thought he was this generation's Clapton? Well, you're wrong. He's that and THEN SOME." And ps, I think it really may be all about the music now, because in my theater, there were only about 25 or so people, but there were more males than females. Anybody else from MSM at the Cincy showing? And pps, no one clapped or cheered at this showing in Censornatti. I wanted to, but fear of looking like an idiot (which doesn't usually come into play) restrained me. I felt like I was at a concert. . .in the good seats, so it felt strange that I was a) sitting, and b) not showing the love. And ppps, being a little nostalgic, I just have to say that I'm so glad we did that '06 John Mayer Trio LV-SoCal tour, Debbie, Dian, Susan, Ginny, Lori, Mik, Caroline. Whew--we saw it unfolding. siggy designed by halogirl as a gift of friendship "The presence of yahoos in daily life is not a new torment. They have always been among us. ryan - on the CD, they took out "fuckin." He still yells "I GOT YOUR BACK LOVE." They managed to sync it quite well. I hope they kept the
"fuckin" in the DVD though. (but it doubt it)

misst wrote: I restrained myself also. I drove 2 hours by myself to Memphis, TN to see the show and felt like I was at a concert. I really expected folks to applaud after songs, but no one made a sound. In fact, very few folks around me were even bobbing their heads or swaying or anything. At the very end, there was a little applause, but that was it. Maybe everyone was just so into it or didn't want to disturb their neighbor by clapping. Anyway, it was great and maybe a little bittersweet. I don't know if I just paid more attention to Dela knowing that he won't be around, but it seemed like he was shown a lot. Kind of made me a little sad thinking that we might not see him play with John again. Oh well, can't wait to get the DVD tomorrow and see it all again. Stephanie |

Just got back from my local showing and it was amazing to see JM on the big screen. The Trio set just absolutely blew me away, including the backstage stuff. I
am glad to know that the cinema portion was cut further down from the DVD - I missed a lot of songs I know we heard on the audience tapes, along with a lot
I'd seen advertised as having "made it" onto the final versions.
As someone else upthread said - I'm glad I made a point to go see this in the theatre. There were about 40 people in the theatre and most were grooving...I was doing my best not to sing along too loudly... but there were a few cries of "DeLa!!" during the full band set (from me and a couple others.) I can tell this is an amazing piece of work - and I'm really glad JM decided to do it. I shall be at Target in approximately seven hours to get the DVD and CD. Can't wait to see the rest.

I found the vinyl at a local record store today, and it was cheaper than what I paid in total to have Best Buy ship it to me. And it's not here yet, so
PS- Richard wasn't kidding about the packaging. It was pretty majestic. That's the only word I can think of to describe it.
