An AMAZING show. I was in the minority who was disappointed by last year's show in Camden - John just didn't seem into it.
This show made up for it. The energy was raucous and the setlist choice... TWO Hendrix covers... "Wheel" - which made my night... Say... the awesome new intro to BTMB (is it new? I've never heard it before so it was to me)... the teases of just about every song ever. Something just clicked tonight and it was absolutely the best performance I've seen John give in person ('04 and '07, respectively). And yes... there'd better be a tape of this. It was too good not to hear again - and not to share! |

wow, just got back from the show. out of all the mayer shows i've been to, this one was one of the better ones.
as for the encore, he played bold as love solo electric like on the stripped performance (with reverse proto strat and all), but i'm pretty sure he messed up a little bit right at the end (he kinda stood back from the mic a little bit and laughed) and just went straight into wind cries mary solo electric. he said after WCM that he felt he owed it to us to play that cause he messed up bold as love at the end. then he played wheel full band and ended with say. before he played say, he played a medley of teasers on acoustic including your body is a wonderland, my stupid mouth, who did you think i was, comfortable, 3x5, daughters and stop this train. it was a really really great encore. will post a review tomorrow morning, sleep is much needed right now
When I was a kid, when I was a little boy, I always wanted to be a dinosaur. I wanted to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex more than anything in the world! I made my arms short, and I roamed the backyard, and I chased the neighborhood cats, and I growled and I roared and everybody knew me and was afraid of me. But then one day my dad said "Bobby, you're 17. It's time to throw childish things aside." And I said, "Okay, Pop." But he really didn't say that, he said "Quit being a fucking dinosaur and get a job." |

easily the best encore i've ever seen. bold as love and wind cries mary solo electric, wheel had a crazy long extended intro, and the medley just topped it
all off. after the medley, he said he was going to write a mega-song made up of all the songs on all his records so we wouldn't ever miss anything we
wanted to hear. he had some pretty witty banter tonight, especially the crazy army story about WOTWTC. i'm sure anyone who was there can vouch for that
haha
i'm praying that this was taped. if it's two years in a row that this wasn't tapped, i won't be happy!!

No, I still think my first Mayer show had the best encore ever (Wind Cries Mary, Another Kind of Green, Comfortable). I'm sure I'm just partial though.
And Ryan, enough is enough with the multiple question marks and caps. You're gonna give yourself an e-heart attack.
Also, I think as long as John isn't playing with Steve and Pino, he'll only ever play Bold as Love solo. I kind of think JJ can't handle the kick drum during the quiet section of that solo. Haha. It's a Trio song anyway. It's the way Jimi played it, and the way John recorded it. Know what I is sayin'? And another thing, Ryan: don't panic if you notice your post count is decreasing. Mine's doing it too. But guess what? You will be alright.

Great Concert | ||
|
I am writing this after having a ton of stuff stolen out of my car in the parking lot.
John was amazing tonight. He played his heart out tonight. Not often do you get to hear him play a lot of
blues. My wife was getting a little sick at the end. We left halfway through the encore. My gps, my wife's expensive makeup, her clothes, my john mayer
cds, and other cds were stolen out of my car during the show. **** Camden thieves!!! Vultures is all i can call those Camden crackheads on this thread. Many
other words come to mind
Will post more tomorrow once my fuming is over from the stuff stolen I hope someone videoed or taped at least the last 3 songs. I missed them
BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! |

I'll never forget my first Mayer show. This woman in front of us drank nonstop during Maroon 5 and was out before John even came on. I'll never
understand why people would get completely shit faced for a show. I'd rather remember it.

One of the best Mayer concerts I've seen in a long time. Great covers GREAT ENCORE!!!!
The only bad things i have to say are to the people who were sitting down the whole time who had better seats then I did, If you dont like it let someone who is a true fan and who will enjoy the concert have your seats. OH and one more thing, thank you L83 for crappy seats. So much for the presale. But all in all it was a GREAT concert. Wheel!!!! Bold as love!!! Wind Cries Mary!!! Every single teaser!!! Mercy Gravity Stitched up Crossroads WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW WOOOPWOOOP Cant wait to download this one.

Great show! I was second row but was able to go up to the barricades in front of my seats and had an awesome time but I'll say that I don't think I
really ever want to be very front again. It's just weird.
The last two Mayer nights have been awesome and now I need sleep...I'll post some more probably ions after this thread dies since I have to go out of town until Sunday!
