My membership expired end of 2008 too. It was originally supposed to expire 10/2008, but they extended it to the end of the year after I told them the site
wouldn't let me purchase a renewal package. Now that it's expired, it won't let me login, and when I click to purchase a renewal packet, it's
not there. Any word on L-83, or any new membership service?

Have you called? I would and ask to talk to a supervisior, worth a shot especially if you ordered something and didn't get it.

I had to call on the 30th because when I tried to log on, a message popped up saying my membership expired. When I clicked on the payment choice, I got the MT store, but no way to renew, so I called them. The first person I spoke to said someone else was taking over the fanclubs, and transferred me to someone who reset my password and extended my membership to 31 March 09. Seems to me if you have expired and you are going to the boat should have a valid membership in case you have to prove it, I did last year when I didnlt get tickets to the Q&A and luckily brought my membership number debbie

Other new info for those locked out. One L83 mod also called and was told to tell people to call them and they would be given an extension. This is for
existing members only, and new memberships are still on hold indefinitely. She was also told they would announce what's going on by January 30th. Take that
with a grain of salt and a big shot of optimism...
And if this was posted in the last 12 pages, I apologize. I didn't have time to read back that far.

L83 has really disappointed me. I just joined last year, and I guess I was expecting too much.
It's completely out-of-date most of the time and there's nothing much going on with it. I hope things get better soon, but we'll see about that...

The only good thng about L-83 is the tickets, like we have said for the last 12 pages. It is all anyone joins for. The site updates maybe once in a
bluemoon. and if you get a membership pkg consider yourself lucky.
I am wondering if they are just going to make us all join again when they switch carriers. should be interesting. debbie

i let both of my memberships go,and the holiday singles always came late. How long have you been in the 10c? The way they did tickets and seats were by senority,and first come first serve. I was in the club for a year,and got 5th row center on pearl jams tour of riot act.Ed solo wasn't based on seniority, even though PJ shows still are. I have crap numbers but a friend with really low numbers who owes me 
L-83 was rock solid in terms of tickets. Probably the best tickets a fan club spit out for me though, was, wait for it, Miley Cyrus. That fan club snagged my 9 year old daughter and me 3rd row seats to Jonas Bros (kind of good in a "can I really be that much of a cougar" to think Joe is cute way) and Hannah Montanna (lip synched and too many age inappropriate wardrobe changes to count). Fortunately, my daughter is a dedicated singer and musician, so the Disney pop phase is now over.

I really don't expect too much from L-83. I like the chance to purchase my tickets early, my small discount at the store, and my subscription to Rolling
Stone magazine. I didn't expect a "pimped out" deck of cards this year, so that was fun.

So what is going on with this? I guess I'm being forced to call since no one answered my e-mail about extending my membership or whatever. It expired
today. I hope I don't get penalized in the long run (if they ever go for the seniority thing) for it lapsing because it's not my fault. I don't
understand why they wouldn't just extend everyone's memberships until whenever they decide to figure out what's going on.

I emailed them last week about my renewal and got this response:
Dear Members, I apologize for the delay in answering your email. We are experiencing a high volume of emails for Local 83. Unfortunatley We are not excepting any new or renewing members at this time. . You will get a email about about the launch of the new fan club. We are also no longer extending memberships. As the new club should be announced soon. Local-83 However, this is L-83 so I have no idea what they mean by "soon". |

I just called today because they extended my membership until the 30th because they were suppose to release info but didn't. I was worried because
technically I'm not a 'member' anymore because it expired. They did not extend my membership because they said that the new company should be
sending an email soon. I was worried about losing my membership because i've been in it since 2002/2003-ish and she said I should be on a list because they
know when they expired and they new company should have it. Most of it is the same as the person above stated but you never know with MusicToday!
