What Album Is This Song From? |
Lead | |
|
I know it's "Man on the Side," which is from the Any Given Thursday album. However, this wonderful acoustic version is definitely
not from that live album. Does anyone know what to put it under?

I'd put it under "Random John Songs" or something. I don't know the date or venue. Just that it's an older live recording.

From the tone of his singing voice it sounds like somewhere in 1999, maybe Eddie's Attic or some radio station recording. Geez he's sounds young.

i was gonna say 6-15-99 but i don't think thats it
When I was a kid, when I was a little boy, I always wanted to be a dinosaur. I wanted to be a Tyrannosaurus Rex more than anything in the world! I made my arms short, and I roamed the backyard, and I chased the neighborhood cats, and I growled and I roared and everybody knew me and was afraid of me. But then one day my dad said "Bobby, you're 17. It's time to throw childish things aside." And I said, "Okay, Pop." But he really didn't say that, he said "Quit being a fucking dinosaur and get a job." |

No, the 6-15-99 doesn't sound like that. It's really clear, but not as much as that. I'm not sure he even played Man on the Side at that show. I
could be wrong though.

It was from Eddie's Attic circa 2000 I'm pretty certain. JM taped it himself by patching into the board. I don't remember the exact date. I'm
sure Jocelyn can tell you.

I was wrong about the 6-15-99 show. MOTS was played at that show.

I suppose the short post didn't seem to warrent it, but I offer this as consolation.
Very respectfully, JJ

Thanks, guys. I named the album "Live at Eddie's Attic - 6/15/99" and made my own artwork for it.
You know, because my iTunes must be organized that way.

i've had it myself since my sophomore year of college (2000/2001) and can't for the life of me remember where it came from. i've had its album
labeled as "???" for years. sorry! as a side note, it's too bad that thejmtp.com expired or was disabled due to some issue, because it lists
all the dates the song was played.

Well, I'm just going to leave it as Eddie's Attic for the moment... Does anyone know what this is from?
Maybe I'll just name it "John Mayer Live, 2000". |

Thanks, Jocelyn.
I'm an organizational freak in my iTunes, so this has to have an album name and some album artwork... I just named it "Live at Eddie's Attic" and made my own art.
