John, Here's how your music has helped.. |
Lead | |
|
John Mayers music has all affected us in some way or another, other wise, well we wouldn't be on this fan site. So, I figured we could all just share how
his music has helped us, and maybe this will get to John so he can know how much we appreciate him.

I think I'll start.. haha. John, your music has made my life so much easier. It is impossible to find more beautiful fun music that relates more to my
everyday life. There is a song of yours that fits my every mood. On so many occasions I may have lost it, but your music kept me safe and present and I
can't thank you enough! I hope you know how amazing your music is, and how perfect your entire band sounds together! You seem like such a cool person, and
your music definitely reflects that!

John, thanks for writing Wonderland, it helps anyone with any sort of guitar playing ability get laid all across the world.
I'm Irish if that matters

John-
Your music has helped me and saved me more than I can ever express in a simple message board post, but here it goes- On September 25, 2006 my bestfriend Daniel committed suicide before school. It was and still is the single most difficult thing I have ever experienced. And for a long time- I had no way to cope, nowhere to turn, nothing to help, until I found your music. During my hardest of days, weeks, and months your music soothed me and saved me. I learned not to mourn Dan's death, but to instead Celebrate his Life. The past two years have been hard, and I cannot thank you enough for your music, It held my hand through the darkest of days. Thank you for your concerts the past two summers, as well- especially Hershey, Pa '07- They have provided me with a few hours of pure joy, comfort, and happiness that I have not been able to find anywhere for two years. Now that I am slowly healing, I use your music as a source of inspiration, and for guidance, hope, and love. Your music has changed and saved my life. Words simply cannot express my gratitude towards you. I hope that someday I can meet you to give you a proper "thank you" but for now, this is all I have. THANK YOU. love always<3 |

Every month we should do a new "Dear John" thread. You know, last month was "Dear John, we want you to know this", and now this month is
"Dear John, Here's how your music has helped." I say next month should be "Dear John, here's what I would plan for us to do if we were
hanging out."

I say we keep it G rated. Why are you under 14? Somehow I think I have heard John issue a few blue statements. I thought this was an adult board. I'm not commenting on the rest of this thread. ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. and you do know that Sam was being facetious? Please tell me you do. debbie

look...obviously the music has struck a chord (pun entirely intended) with all of us or we wouldn't be here talking, occasionally ad nauseum, about the
guy, but really are all these schmoopy threads needed? i understand that music changes lives, inspires lives and in some cases, saves lives. i would not have
become a musician and a music teacher if i didn't believe that with my whole being, but you need to be on this message board to talk ABOUT john mayer, not
talk TO john mayer. the fact that he even acknowledged that he read a thread around here was great, but i don't think it was his goal to get new reading
material every week. don't you think that it loses some of its integrity if it's just repeated over and over again?

I thought my comment about the "what we plan to do when we hang out thread" only further implied ClarityforNoone's apparent sarcasm. Guess not

If not for hearing "Why, Georgia" coming out of the pump speakers at the Exxon yesterday (true story), we might have crashed the car. If it wasn't for that version of "Clarity" you heard this morning, you might have up and spontaneously imploded, rendering you absent from the planet. Thank God you can Thank John for these meaningful and necessary moments as you amble through life.
